I think this one would make the top 10 for very few people, but it is a certainly a nice one that doesn't seem to get discussed often.

I got a sample of that one and like it a lot. I'd like it even more if it were about half the price. Definitely has a great cabin fireplace in winter vibe.

    Vetiver Extraordinaire
    Royal Oud
    Encre Noire
    Fahrenheit
    Sycomore

Yes, By the Fireplace seems like one of those fragrances that's easy to like, but few people whole heartedly love it.

It's definitely my favorite note of all time. It's one of the best with my skin chemistry too. Had to throw in some leathery wild cards with TL and Fahrenheit though.

Very difficult because it is "of all time". A current top ten would be easier.

It's strange...Art del la Guerre is something I owned about 4 or 5 years ago, but I didn't have it for too long before I sold it. But you know how certain fragrances stick out in your mind and kind of haunt you? That's been happening with AdlG for the past 6 months or so, I'm strongly considering buying it again. I can remember it perfectly, and I'm wondering now why I ever got rid of it in the first place. It has so many nice and interesting things going on. Truly an excellent, modern fougere.

I also agree that Mystery Tobacco is a really good one. I think it's better than Tobacco Vanille, Herod, and a few of the other commonly praised tobacco scents. What's strange is it has some pretty bad reviews on Fragrantica. I don't what they're smelling, but they're pretty certain they think it's a crap fragrance. I can't figure out why though. There's not one thing about it that would put it beneath the other "famous tobaccos" and there are a few things about it, in my opinion, that make it better. It's odd that some people seem to dislike it (people who seem to like other tobacco scents like the ones mentioned).

The Jovoy grabbed my attention right from the start, that rhubarb sits on top from start to finish never fading completely and that is what I love about it. It's tart and crisp in the beginning and I found it works surprisingly well in warmer weather for that reason. Not many in the fougere genre work in east coast humidity with a heat index at 105+ but this does. It just has that 'it factor' for me.

Mystery Tobacco, along with pretty much any tobacco, gets unfairly lumped in with Tobacco Vanille because of Tom Fords name recognition. MT is the best representation of tobacco that's not candy coated, not this or that. Everything in MT balances incredibly well with each other
