Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Thanks, N.Cal and teardrop! I call them Violas but, whatever they are, this is a pic from early summer - before the heat wave wiped them out!

Look at those darling little monkey-faces! You have my favorite garden color scheme all in one flower, HoP. Love, love that purple/blue/yellow! And so many! These are very productive for you, I see. What a beautiful pic!

Glad the monarch was able to spread some joy. One of those creatures, like kittens, that make one just wonder at their beauty. And as ExtremeK says, the milkweed just draws them like magic. The only hard part is getting a pic of the wingspan; trained models, they are not!

CuddleCat, I'm thinking I get pretty much the same longevity from JM Grapefruit as I do from LB&M. Right in that ballpark, anyway. And as much as I love LB&M, I am wrinkling my nose at the thought of it in dry heat. You're right, it doesn't sound good! But yes, there's always winter. I love citrus in winter for brightening up long stretches of dreary skies!

N.Cal was right, the heat is much more reasonable today. Hope the cooler air is spreading itself around! I wasn't in the mood to give up wearing my beautiful Dior decants when the heatwave struck, so grabbing the opportunity to wear Diorling today. My kind of leather, with plenty of flowers.

Whilst we are on the subject of flowers, I wondered if any of you cat lovers know
if it's normal for a cat to actually eat catnip flowers. I know they love to roll in it and it sends
them into exctasy but I have one in a pot and our neighburs cat seems to be denuding it of
    the flowers!

Oops, almost forgot - my SOTD is Bulgari Omnia Green Jade.

My Lily liked to nibble on the flowers. Obviously fine for the cats (she lived to 18 yrs of age) but not fine for people who are trying to enjoy the flowers! That pic is gorgeous, kewart! Such a tidy garden!

Good afternoon all !. PerfumedLady, the picture of the monarch butterfly was very evocative for me because we always see them in New Zealand and marvel at how spectacular they are. The only thing that comes close are the swallowtails we see in Lake Como.

That looks very much like our American swallowtails, Jon.

The weather is fully civilized today, but needed groceries so desperately that I couldn't go a-landscaping this morn. Wore Carthusia Aria di Capri, which is supposed to be mimosa, iris, lemon, orange, peach, but today I'm strongly picking up cloves, which I don't like, even if I can see where that'd make sense with the peach.

Ann Miller has legs! She's GREAT! What I liked most was the eye rolls of the blonde who also had to watch--LOL for real --- Thanks Cook.bot for the video. Because it is indeed TOO HOT. My little country church's A/C was on the blink and my arms got tired of fanning--Just when I was going to bolt (as my facial muscles had started twitching and I was concerned for myself) a guest preacher got up. If a southern lady walks out on a guest preacher surely there would be some hell to pay. I stuck it out but my eyes glazed over and I spent the time looking out the window in a semi-fugue state. I hope people who noticed I was elsewhere in my head thought I was having some kind of intense spiritual experience. Mostly I was annoyed that I couldn't keep my legs crossed because they were too slippery with sweat.

The butterfly photos and violas made me catch my breath--so beautiful.

Foxbins--I gotta remember that one-- "The sample vial slipped!" Heh, heh, heh, Cuz, otherwise, I would never over apply.

SOTD for me is vintage Diorissimo parfum. Just a dab.

Smelling vaguely barbershopish in Classic 1920, might change to Mandarine Basilic or Mediterraneo if 1920 doesn't calm down a bit. Lovely day here, sunny, a bit breezy, high about 82F (28C).

Oh, that swallowtail sure does look like ours here in the States, JR & Quarry! We also get an all blue and black one here in Indiana, how about up in WI, Q.? And I didn't know NZ gets monarchs! Now that I think of it though, makes perfect sense as they migrate to where the good weather is. New Zealand sounds just fascinating all around!

Eau Premiere for what may just be an early night. I think all that prolonged heat made me extra sleepy. A good evening to all!
