Reading through the posts, would I be correct in thinking that most Basenoters live in locations that endure high relative humidity with their summer heat? I get the impression that I'm in the minority with mostly dry heat or extreme dry heat during summers.

Still battling the flu here, I'm wearing No.19 Poudre by Chanel.

I would say that is true in much of the US, although maybe not the southwest.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Do you get kangaroos running around your property?

I live in a village in a rural area and we get white tailed deer in our yards all the time. Like this morning, for example. Traffic discourages them not at all.

Thanks for the get well wishes!

No kangaroos but we get the occasional possum, wombat, echidna & laughing kookaburras. When I was a child we used to see a few koalas on my grandparent's farm, too.

It's quite humid where I live. Humidity is at 88% today, it's very sunny and nothing's out of the norm. I've seen the percentage fluctuating between 65 and 95 this summer (thanks to Windows Forecast ). That's why anything over 30 C (80 F) is hardly bearable here.
Wishing you lots of strength battling against the flu! Get well soon!

Zilpha, wow, white tailed deer in your yard sounds awesome. Must be a beautiful view! (Maybe not as beautiful view for your garden plants though )

I'm wearing CK Contradiction today and today I should finally get to adopt a cat as the girl who rescued her feels comfortable giving her to me already after a visit to the vet. I'm excited and a little bit nervous, I hope she'll feel comfortable in my home.

    Morning all!

CuddleCat, get well soon! We do get dry heat sometimes, but mostly we get humidity here in the summer.

lt's been a hot & mostly sleepless night, with a spectacular thunderstorm that produced lots of lightning & torrents of rain. This morning the sun is out again, & at 6.00 AM the temp was already reading 27 degrees C in the house.

l have a day off today, & l'll be heading out into the garden later, but probably staying in the shade. l'm keeping it simple & wearing Golden Paradise.

But at least you'll be indoors with AC right? It's probably the to and from work which will be unpleasant I'm guessing?

Perhaps these might come in handy

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Hello and best to everyone. CuddleCat I hope you feel better soon. Here in New York City our summers are largely oppressive: hazy, hot, and humid. But we are currently experiencing a reprieve with much cooler temperatures and less humidity this morning.

Teardrop, you have my complete sympathies! Xo We do have AC at work, albeit an ancient, overloaded system which cuts out frequently, and no working casement windows. It can get pretty smothering sometimes. Still, I’m thankful when it’s running.

SOTD is Coty Wild Orange Blossom. Be well, all.

Good morning, good smelling people. Neil Morris Prowl for today, mmm. Yesterday I wore Knot by Bottega Veneta.

We are humid here, but wow I like that so much better than dry. I feel dry air much more, would take steam room over sauna I guess.

Our forecast is sort of comical in the summer:

More get well wishes for CuddleCat! Ugh, flu. I think we have more humid summer days than dry here in Indiana, but we do get occasional dry heat. My state's weather is most notable for squeezing in all the different icons on smartphone weather apps, over the course of one week (during seasonal transitions). As they say, "if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes."

Sampling Habanita l'Esprit this morning, thanks to a lovely and talented BN friend. This is just great; nutmeggy, jasmine, heliotrope goodness. Molinard does good stuff.

    Have a good day, everyone!

    Cristalle Eau Verte again today.

Cuddlecat, feel better. To your question, Memphis TN summers are about 80-100 degrees Fahrenheit with between 50 and 100 percent humidity. Today is beautiful and mild (84 degrees Fahrenheit and 58% humidity). We aren’t usually this lucky.
My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.

Just the horror of tomorrow to contend with then back to relative normality by the weekend
