Default Very very begginer, need help finding something spicey and Woody.

    Hello
I am looking for a specific fragrance
I am a butch lesbian and like male/masculine fragrances mainly. I am wanting something woodsy and spicy but with a little masculine sweetness. I like terre d'hermes a lot because of its woodsy coziness while still being versatile. I would just do terre d'hermes but I want something spicier without the citrus notes. I don't want to smell like Christmas though because I want it to be something I can wear year round. My price range is under $200 and preferably under $150. I don't know if this scent exists, but I hope it does.
    Thank you

    Welcome!

Chanel Antaeus is a very nice, a bit butch, woody spicy perfume. Darker than Terre d'Hermes, and without citrus.

If you want something stronger, you can go into leathers, like the classic Knize Ten.

check out Collistar Acqua Wood. it's light enough and fresh with a slight sweetness and the spicy woody thing but subtle. perfect for a woman who wants something in this direction, in my opinion. there is some citrus but it dies down to more a spicy, aromatic vetiver. cheap too.

Another vote for 2 Man. Woods, vetiver, white smoke, candle wax and a touch of clean cumin. Reminiscent of the woods in Autumn and a has a touch of lumberjack to it. I like to wear it with a flannel shirt in cooler weather.

Sticking with the Comme red Garçons theme, you could also try Wonderwood, which has a bunch of dry woods and with pepper and a touch of nutmeg.

Oud Wood also came to mind, but it’s above your budget.
Epic Man, mentioned above, is also excellent. It’s a bit pricey, but maybe you can find a bottle within your budget from an online discounter. I haven’t checked the pricing for a few years, so I’m not sure.
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

My favourite in this category is Miller Harris Vetiver Insolent. It's a fantastic, woody and spicy vetiver fragrance that is incredibly versatile and performs well in all sorts of occasions and temperatures. It's slightly sweet but not overly so, and is pretty much unisex with perhaps a slight lean into masculine territory.

Other than that, I can vouch for these:

    - By Kilian Straight to Heaven
    - Dolce & Gabbana The One
    - Chanel Egoiste (though I personally don't like it)
    - Diptyque Tam Dao

These ones I haven't tried but would love to and they get a lot of mentions on the forum:

    - Carven Pour Homme
    - Nicolai New York

to a possible (re) testing list.

Agree. I think Wonderwood is what you're looking for OP, but 2Man is a good one also. I'm not the biggest fan of Epic, but for sure check it out and if you're looking at Amouage maybe also check out Memoir.

Yatagan by Caron perhaps - resiny woodsy aromatic - acclaimed as a blasting masculine,I feel it can easily be rocked by either.
Dirty English - spicy warm boozy cozy ?
