Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Hello everyone!

I had a pretty busy weekend - my boyfriend's sister's visit (she lives in London for 15 years now and doesn't come too often, so some drinks in the city were a must) and my friend's bachelorette party - and didn't post, but I took some time during my lunch break to catch up with you all.

First of all, hednic, happy wedding anniversary! That's a lot of years together, congratulations!

ExtremeK, your holiday trip sounds amazing. Have the best time on the water, in the water, out of the water and near the water!
ExtremeK and PerfumedLady, I was laughing at your descriptions of yourself as "vintage". You have obviously meant "great" and "worthy" with that description!

Quarry, I'm very glad to hear your leg is feeling better. And I loved your garden photos. Your morning coffee view is wildly beautiful. Do you see wild animals in your garden often?

Ineespenes, I hope your holiday is going great, too! Sending the good vibes to you!

PerfumedLady, I loved your Bela Lugosi lily so much. As a fan of both classic vampire movies & stories and some good old Bauhaus, I'm appreciating its naming sooo much! And it's such a beauty.

It's a hot day today, so I'm wearing Les Amoureux de Peynet by Molinard.

    Have a great week everyone!

    Hi, everyone!

Spritz and dash for me, though I clearly have to go back through the threads because you all have been having big wedding anniversaries, holidays, and other adventures (fun and, um, otherwise)!

Robert Piguet Baghari for me today.

Marvelous Monday to you and yours!

Baghari fragrance notes: Aldehydes, Bergamot, Orange blossom, Lemon, Rose, Lilac, Clove, Ylang ylang, Hay, Lily of the valley, Jasmine, Iris, Bourbon vetiver, Costus, Benzoin, Musk, Vanilla, Civet, Ambergris, Castoreum.

ClockworkAlice, I think I can speak for ExtremeK and myself here- you just made two new best friends! You are such a sweetie! I love the old horror movies, too, as you all may have guessed.

Glad you folks got a kick out of Bela! I developed an instant affection for Shycat's dad upon reading that post! Obviously a man of taste. And Quarry, I'm with you, an old Victorian painted lady would be the best pairing for Bela! I get away with the wild colors here as the house is white siding/black shutters and kind of plain in style (Dutch Colonial Revival). But there's a yellow-ish cream Victorian, (with white, pink and burgundy trim) just down the road that I feel needs Bela, too. Don't know the owners; may need to plot a stealth planting mission, lol.

I'm sampling the beautiful Anucci Femme today, from the equally beautiful HoP. Have a great day, all!

    What do you think?

Today I'm in Isvaraya from my brand new bottle. Probably a little heavy for a day that promises to be warm....but I'm enjoying it nonetheless.

Jon I love the Bellbird video. Thanks for posting.

CwAlice, yes, the wildlife has increased as we replaced a hillside full of invasive shrubs with American prairie flowers and grasses. Deer, coyote, turkeys and various little furry critters visit us. Lately we've been watching hummingbirds. I have no concept of what sort of wildlife you have in Lithuania, so I'm going to google that after posting here.*

Jon, thank you (again) for helping us see and hear wildlife in GB and NZ.

PL, planting into your neighbor's garden--presumably by a full moon--I approve.

The Kid, as we call dear daughter, turned 40(?!?) today and got us up around 2:30 a.m. to be driven to the airport for a double Disney vacay (Disneyland and Disney World). I had to wear the frag she gave me over 15 years ago, Guerlain With Love.

    ...

    * ETA: Actually, aside from elk and wild boar, Lithuania's wildlife looks very much like what's running around southern Wisconsin. So interesting.
    I don't want to. I don't have to. You can't make me. I'M RETIRED.
