Yeah, maybe we can both sign up for NBS with a SH exception clause.

I've been good, haven't bought any fragrances for a few months. Recently I revisited Horseball Classic... a fragrance that was never marketed to the USA. I stumbled upon it quite by accident about 5 years ago and took a chance on it simply because the name was so intriguing (plus composition looked interesting). It turned out to be pretty nice, actually. At the time I posted about it, some one said they'd seen it in Saudi Arabia. "Horseball" is a sports game played on horseback, supposedly popular in France.

(the image I'm showing here is slightly mocked up, as a joke -- as if real horse balls are used!)
On a lark I discovered that FragranceNet now caries it for a pretty cheap price. It has been marketed mostly in Europe and Middle East, not USA. Packaging has changed from when I first got it, so I have some worry of reformulation. Anyway, tempted to get it just to see...

I'm out. Bought a sample of Squid and a few decants while DecantShop had 30% off. I think they're still overpriced with that discount, but not terribly.

I've generally been good with taming bottle purchases this year, but samples, minis, and decants is another story.

I think you brought this to a meet up a few years back. I remember liking it but have no recollection of what it smelled like.

Squid? I can't get it out of my head, the sight of you spraying it onto your neck and it starts out as an inky mess.

Heh, I see what you mean. Like the horse that ushered in the "Mouth of Sauron". The ginger and citrus notes are pretty forward. It reminds me of something that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe a better version of Oliver & Co's Gincense.

The video of kids playing Horseball on the Wikipedia page is hilarious. Slow motion mini-horse pandemonium meets polo meets rugby meets...a game of schoolyard keep-away? Or something like that. I want in.

Yeah, Wikipedia states "The sport is like a combination of polo, rugby, and basketball." It does sound hilarious without even seeing it!

Well, that was... something. I watched the whole thing and didn't see anyone throw the ball into a hoop, just drop it on the ground a lot after which everything comes to a screeching halt.

If I can stay away from those stores, I should be able to make it until October. I actually avoided them for months a few years back.

    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.

I stayed out of the discount stores today...that's the key! I am 90% less likely to pay full price for a scent.
