    Hello everyone!
Thank you for the good wishes! The trip is starting now, with me in Les amoureux de Peynet by Molinard. Lemon, verbena and ginger to start the day in the best mood and energy!

Shycat, your kittens are amazing. And I actually loved the greenery all over your window.

Quarry, haha, Chubby Kitty - it might come to that!

    Have a nice weekend everyone.

Good morning all !. The wild windy weather has arrived here too along with all the inevitable transport chaos and the residual effects which are still ongoing. Thankfully we weren't victims of the major power cut that affected thousands of people nationwide but we are definitely staying local this weekend !. Today's SotD choice was random (as usual) but it seems rather appropriate looking outside today.

Good morning everyone Looks like I've been missing a few highlights in the Sotd-thread lately :/ I've mostly been chiming in to post my sotd quickly. So far we have done a lot during the holiday. Today is our last whole day in Copenhagen. I really love this city, and wanna go back soon! Anyway, Jon I love that photo Sotd is Russian leather. It feels quite Aromatic and it leans slightly more to the masculine side. I like it, though Now off to the Botanical gardens and a bookmarked. Have a great day all

Glad to see you're enjoying your holiday trip! Have fun in Botannical gardens and do share what you like the most!

I haven't tried Russian Leather on my skin, but I smelled it on paper and liked it, too. My impressions were similar to yours - it seemed a really pleasant and masculine leaning aromatic leather. I loved the piney undertones.

Glad to hear all is well where you are, Jon! We escaped the power outage too, but we did lose another fence panel overnight.

Despite the howling winds here, we've been watching a guy up a fifty foot tree across the road chopping off branches with a chainsaw, without a harness this morning. What a nutcase! lt provided some entertainment during our breakfast, though.

l have a day off, & l'll be pottering indoors in Pistachio lce Cream this afternoon.

Happy Saturday, all. I'm sampling Kiss Me Intense again today. At one point I thought this might be a buy, but I think not. It's got a plasticky vibe I can't get past.

    Dear basenotes friends,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind and understanding words on the sudden loss of my dear and talented friend, Barbara Bilach, principal pianist of American Ballet Theatre. Yes, as many of you remarked, her loss leaves an enormous void, to the world of dance, to all who knew her, to the world. Today I am wearing a little bit of l'Heure Bleue on one wrist. This suits the wistfulness I felt on waking this morning.

I made a recording as an elegy to my friend. She celebrated my acquiring my Steinway, and let me know that should I ever need to part with it. . .

There is a missed note. My friend is missed.

I'm not sure but I would hazard a guess at New England.

Jujy, that was beautiful, and a lovely tribute to your friend Barbara.

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to post, but I *did* participate in the Sync. I wore Mysore Lime by Madhat Scents from a sample that I found in the sample pile at the Chicago BN Meetup, because I have already gone through my two bottles. It was nice to revisit it again. Do I need a 3rd bottle? I'm still trying to decide. The lime note in it is stunning. As it's started to age it's starting to acquire a smell that uniquely compares to the vintage Limed by Madhat that I still own and eek out slowly so that I don't use it all up. It's a creamy lime but it still has a mouth-puckering quality to it. In the afternoon, at work, I applied another scent that I felt matched the Sync: Ananas Fizz by L'Artisan Parfumeur. Pineapple and rum. Actually, a very citric pineapple note - bordering on grapefruit-y. But very enjoyable, quite exotic and I'm sure there's some Cuban cocktail that smells/tastes like this scent does.

Shycat - the weed growing inside your window made me laugh out loud. If you wake up one morning, with you or one of the cats, curled up in a vine please take a picture of that. lol

ineespenes - I love Copenhagen. I would love to return one day. The botanical garden is nothing short of amazing. I'd heard of it, as a teen, so going there as an adult was quite magical and the landscaping, the rides, the restaurant and the lunch we had there, the weather - it was all perfect. In fact, a girl who goes to my Cross Fit went to Europe with her daughters and had a very lengthy layover in Copenhagen and I heard her ask someone what they thought she could do in Copenhagen for a couple of hours and I immediately piped up and told her to take her daughters to Tivoli Gardens. When she returned to Miami she thanked me - they loved it. Enjoy!

I woke up late today (I got home super late) so it was a rush of chores, laundry, cooking and eating. I wore Dirty Ginger by Heretic Parfums last night - OMG I want a bottle BAD! It put me in the mood for ginger this morning so in my rush around the apartment I found a sample that I *also* found in the sample pile in Chicago and wore that:

Ginger Essence by Origins (from a sample)

A little too sweet, actually. I think I like my ginger more dry and spicy smelling. Well...I like Dirty Ginger so now nothing will satisfy my ginger craving except that. Damnit.
