Default Counterfeit Byredo - is it true? - counterfeit or authentic? different manufacturer or scent match

Iíve recently been on a hunt to find older style version Byredo bottles to purchase after being intrigued by Gypsy Water and BDA over the 2019 summer. Iím having a hard time finding the older style bottles but I was able to obtain a Baudelaire and another Gypsy Water leaving me to purchase the newer style box and labeling which has been rumored to have many top notch counterfeit in circulation leaving me perplexed and skeptical, regardless of my own beliefs. Anyway, Iíve found some great deals on newer bottles and purchased a few, Black Saffron certain to be 100% authentic and the authenticity of Mister Marvelous and Super Cedar in question. Iíve tested each fragrance noting the packaging to be identical, specific to box, bottle, elevated black ink but in question is the font of Lot#(not a big concern but could be?), the inside of magnetic cap, and most importantly the smell of fragrance is in question. While comparing the juice inside the newer bottles, although a different aroma, I can pick up on many notes listed in the Black Saffron formula but unable to identify notes in Super Cedar or Mister Marvelous. Maybe the two in question are linear fragrances because both are potent with no detected ETOH in the opening of fragrance. My concerns are rumors yet not much on the internet about the rumors especially counterfeits from Russia. There are so many scent matching fragrance company popping up admitting to replicating yet not placing in similar bottle while others are actual copycat niche brands. I just canít see how counterfeiting non popular scents would be profitable by utilizing nice glass bottles with magnetic caps and top dollar packaging but who knows??? I will attempt to attach two images below, Black Saffron with the newest cap internal B made in France and Mister Marvelous/Super Cedar cap ßicon made in Sweden is in question because my last newer style Gypsy Water doesnít have B on sprayer but the inner cap is identical to the ones in question. Finally, the black/white font identical with elevation of black ink and embossed white volume identical even the texture of the perforated sticker on sides. Any feedback or any response providing a similar experience specific with Byredo fragrances would be appreciated.

From your photos, to my eye they look OK.

In all honesty ... if you're that paranoid about buying fakes, then should probably just stick to purchasing from an authorized retailer.

Iím just trying to determine if many Byredo counterfeits exist and if the counterfeits are damn near perfect then yes, I should just buy from an authorized dealer. I was looking for the old formulations because the fragrance scent is better blended but the only ones available are the labels displayed in picture. Iím just curious if these are counterfeits then there almost identical. Thanks for opinion

I wouldn't think Byredo would be a top target for fakers -- the bottles in the photo look good to me

New gen counterfeiters do not make fake packaging anymore. They buy real empty bottles, and refill them with clones. Impossible to tell is the juice is real just based on the bottle, since the bottle is real! Sometimes, large scale couterfeiters even make deals with the packaging manufatcurer who work for the brands to buy the ones that didn;t pass the QC.
That said, there is a huge wave of fake Diptyque and Byredo coming from Russia currently.

Yes they do, but one must use a little common sense.
    a. counterfeiters want big margins (clone vs real), thus will target expensive fragrances (no company will bother making a clone of a $50 frag)
    b. counterfeiters want to make sure they will sell their product quickly (high demand), thus will not target under-the-radar houses (real niche)

In order to safely buy on ebay, one should:

1/ best selling expensive brands (what I call mainstream luxury brands, as opposed to real niche) when the price is too good or the seller suspicious (these are Byredo, Dyptique, Amouage, Creed, Roja, By Kilian...), because they match both previous points
2/ apply regular rules of caution on ebay, that is avoiding to buy to sellers based in eastern Europe countries, only buy to sellers who have a decent amount of reviews (more than 20-30), and have more than 97% positive reviews (if one has less, it's not obviously bad, but check the reviews: if it's slow shipping issues, that's fine) and check that there's nothing strange with the ad (check that the ad has a real pic of the product, not brand-provided catalog pic). I would also make sure the seller accepts free returns within 30days, and that they pay for it. And most of all, do NOT believe in Santa Claus: if the price is too good, it's weird (usually the best deals on ebay are around max. 20-30% less than the best online price from large online sellers - more than 30% is probably a scam, or there's a fine print one missed: pic shows 3.4oz bottle, but it's a 1.7oz in the ad or so... and usually what is written is what counts).

if counterfits are so perfect, why bother with the original?
I have wanted to buy a few samples on ebay, but after calculating ebay fees, shipping costs, price of the juice, it ends being that the sellers were working for peanuts, free or were loosing money.. unless they were selling stolen goods, which happens as well. Unfortunately price is not a good indicator. Just rising the prices doesnt mean the stuff is legit.

A video about the fakes, not perfumes but legos, but still .. idea is the same. Even the boss cant tell the right one.
