Good morning all !. Bright and breezy outside with nothing extreme forecast for the near future. I still have a lingering suspicion that this summer will have a nasty sting in it's tail. Fingers crossed that I will be proved wrong

I've just past the 38K finish line.

Jon, It's something called ''Indian'' summer. Our Indian summers haven't been as bad but they've contributed to some massive wildfires.

    Morning all!

Q, l loved the Jane Austen quote. Enjoy your get-together!

l'm also hoping summer isn't over yet, as long as it doesn't go above about 26 degrees, but it feels almost chilly here today.

lne, glad you had a lovely break!

l'm wearing Ashoka for my late shift today.

It's more than warm here in Warsaw today and it doesn't seem like summer is going to end soon - at least here.

Wearing Rabarbaro by L'erbolario today, it's going to be my scent of the trip.

Good morning! Congrats N.Cal on your posting milestone.

Today I'm wearing Goldfield & Banks Velvet Splendour. I really like this one, it has mimosa, orange blossom and jasmine for the main florals. When I first put it on it reminded me a little of Chanel No 5, a big floral, but it's easier to wear. It's long lasting and a very beautiful scent.

    Have a good day!

Gonna go get some sun today at the pool, hopefully it doesn't rain although I don't mind if it's cloudy. Sitting in the full on sunshine is incredibly hot these days.

Last night I met up with a friend for his birthday and I wore Cumming, a lot of it. I love that stuff.

Today...I am clueless what I am going to wear. Maybe something *tropical*? I'll post it later.

I'm wearing D600 today, which will contain a little of this, a little of that. Mowing the lawn, going to the gym, reading some of my book, watering the landscape plants. The daylily is not looking good.

Jujy, that's a lovely tribute to your friend. The missing note is heartbreaking in a good way--we all should be so loved and so missed at our death.

Inees, I'm happy to hear you having a nice holiday. I like hearing about it!

I skipped church today because I spent the night beating off kittens. They discovered that touching my nose with their nose at 2 or 3 am doubles as a catapult ride. Must've done it 50 times, as even in my irritated sleep I will only toss them gently off my bed. I could hear them saying "Whhhhheeeee! Again! Again Mommy!" Mr. Cat dropped by to check on me...maybe. Or maybe to shame me since he had pictures of the work he's doing on the ramp and rails for our elder members. Which, maybe, he expected me to be there to help with...yeah, seeing how it was my idea. Push-pinned me to a corkboard with setting rails tomorrow after the quickcrete cures the posts in place.

Yeah, my idea is for him to do it. This whole 'make Shycat sweat and chip her nails' concept is a figment of his imagination. Sigh. Which at this point just means I'll go tomorrow late afternoon with a bottle of ice water and a pair of leather garden gloves.

Happy to make sport for my Basenotes neighbors--and I have cut back the window weed and vacuumed. The little Nermals offer a view to chaos theory with maximum dispersion of all things dispersible. You would think "Ah yes, little kittens track cat litter about the bathroom." but I'm finding odd shoes carried into the living room.

I've been happy in Kai oil today.

Sadly, not many daylilies look good by August. The foliage becomes an eyesore--the maintenance becomes yanking out the dead exterior blades. I will caution you against over watering-- in this heat, too much water will cause the rhizomes to rot and encourage rust. It will not likely improve the foliage. Let them go heat dormant. Daylilies, like iris, do not like wet feet.
