Hmm have they not heard of internet sales lol, give someone a chance to put a good fragrance to good use WOW!
Fragrance is my favorite thing. So much so that if I leave the house and I don't put any on, I'll turn around and go back home.

Noted. Still super green here, so I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the information!

But it's also priced in a way that means there are ten trillion copies of it, in varying degrees, than nearly every man who reads/posts about fragrance online has either tried, owns, or wears regularly.

I wouldn't disagree with you though. Just busting chops. Aventus is hard to argue with as a 10 on what I've tried of it. Nothing to really criticise, and a lot to like or even love.

For whatever it's worth (probably too much bourbon..) I was curious about the cumulative results of this thread (and another that popped up while this was active) I tried to remove the EDT/EDP/Vintage aspect since responses were all formatted differently.

So, here is a list of the top 10, 10 out of 10 fragrances!

    House Name Votes
    Dior Fahrenheit 18
    Dior Eau Sauvage 15
    Dior Homme 14
    Yves Saint Laurent Kouros 12
Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Pour Homme 12
    Chanel Egoiste 11
    Chanel Sycomore 11
    Creed Green Irish Tweed 11
    Guerlain Heritage 11
Tauer L'Air du Desert Marocain 11

    Vintage Antaeus
    Vintage Kouros
    Vintage Bel Ami
    Dior Homme (vintage best)
    Dior Fahrenheit
    Rive Gauche Pour Homme

I think it’s hard to make the perfect fragrance (for me) with all the regulations today. The first three listed in modern form tend to lack a smoothness/naturalness to me. I think oakmoss restrictions, musk restrictions, among other things has been detrimental to smell.

This sounds about right, I expected all of these to appear at the top. I'm a bit surprised Antaeus isn't on the list as well.

Right? Bois du Portugal beat it out with 9 mentions (and I don't think I had heard of that one before this thread) and Aventus was only brought up 7 times.

I learned of several new fragrances from this thread (Bois du Portugal and L'Air du Desert Marocain are the ones that stand out) but last night I ordered a few new decants to try. It was also interesting to see that only the GIT was $300+ and all the others were below $130.

Glad to know that all of these are in my collection.
