Hello - You are a *fine*-smelling bunch today!

Excellent birthday yesterday (thanks in no small part to all of the nice wishes here on BN!), including a 2.5-hour dinner with my lovely husband at an excellent tapas place that ended with one of the best flans I've ever had... Normally I can't be bothered if there's not chocolate involved, but this flan was incredible. It's a locally managed place from a small chain called Barcelona.

Keeping the celebratory mood going today in one of the biggest "find-an-occasion-never-mind-I-MAKE-it-an-occasion" scents I know - Roja Dove Diaghilev (waving to the sublime foxbins!!!)

    Wondrous Wednesday, everyone!

Diaghilev fragrance notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Tarragon, Blackcurrant Buds, Heliotrope, Jasmine, Peach, Rose, Tuberose, Violet, Ylang Ylang, Ambrette, Benzoin, Cedarwood, Civet, Clove, Cumin, Guaiacwood, Labdanum, Leather, Musk, Nutmeg, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Peru Balsam, Sandalwood, Styrax, Vanilla, Vetiver.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

Oh my goodness, cazaubon, how frightening for your husband and you. Quick-healing and pain-free wishes for him. I know every breath and movement can be painful.

Not scented yet either. Just waiting for the rain to let up so I can go fetch more fieldstone.

ComDiva, I enjoy seeing how you get the best out of life.

Yikes, cazaubon, I hope your husband is well on the way to a complete recovery and that both of you get restored calm and confidence soon!

Helmets. Can’t say enough good things about helmets (even though they don’t do jack for broken ribs). Sending very gentle hugs.

Happy belated birthday, ComDiva--glad you enjoyed it!
Lordy, Cazaubon, how scary. Best wishes for a speedy healing to your husband.
Kewart, you get my best wishes, too. I'm sorry to hear your back is out. It's maddening for a bit.

I feel fine. I caught up on sleep yesterday that I didn't know I needed. I was just up for a couple of two hour bits for eating, and then would lay down and pass back out. It's weird to miss practically a whole day. I do recall applying Hypnotic Poison when I got up to eat supper--kid you not. Now I'm sitting here a bit wide eyed and superstitious...like, holy f&#^, that shit really works.

I've got Bois Farine on for today, with plans to do something productive. I need to put together a new computer chair, and a hundred other little jobs. Will report back tonight.

Hope your husband feels better soon. I've heard broken ribs are an awful type of pain to deal with. I sold my road bike last year and haven't looked back. I live near open 2 lane country roads but the fact is...it literally takes 1 text message and a person not paying attention for my life to end. No thanks. I purchased a full suspension mountain bike after selling the road bike and I haven't looked back. It's more exhilarating to me and not without its own dangers...but I don't have to worry about distracted drivers - just trees!

I'm wearing Beufort Rake & Ruin today. I was greeted by "gross, what are you wearing?" this morning from the wife. I guess she doesn't like birch tar...which is really all I'm getting from this. I LOVE me some birch tar and cade but there's not much else going on here. A loss on blind buy.

The offer we were putting together on a house last night was cancelled...70 days on the market with zero interest or offers and the day we decide we're going in...there's another offer on the table. Oh well. We've decided to go another direction...save for the next 6-8 months...LIST our place first so we don't have to deal with people acting like contingency is the end of the world!

En Passant for a morning at the shelter, and belated birthday wishes to ComDiva. Glad Diaghilev is working for you!

Caz, so sorry to hear about your husband. So scary, I'm glad he escaped more serious injury. Cars vs bicycles is a big deal here in Portland.

cazaubon, best wishes to your husband for a speedy recovery. It is such a relief his injuries weren't more serious considering the circumstances.

I just got a new trail bike. No more road riding or mountain bikes for me. Luckily for me, there are loads of bike trails here in Orange County, along with beach riding.

I’m wearing Timbuktu. It changes each time I wear it and this morning I got a huge blast of incense with the initial spray.

    Have a good day.
