    Default Orto Parisi?

I don't see much talk about this house here and it's been on the market for quite a while (2014). The nose behind it is none other than the one behind Nasomatto - Alessandro Gualtieri.

Have you tried them? Any favourites or let-downs?

Today I pulled the trigger on a bottle of Boccanera because I have seen the reviews praising it as being a take on Black Afgano with some dark chocolate going on in the background. I will also get a sample of Terroni. I have high expectatione for both of them. I hope I won't be disappointed.

I own boccanera and like it but my girlfriend loves it on me ( disclaimer: she bought it for me).
Tried Terroni and liked it but it’s fake incense overload ( and I love fake incense ), much too much for me.
I think the art house niche silliness of the brand is funny, I don’t take it very serious and think their packaging is pretty cool.
The scents are humongous and loaded with every room filling fixative that available, I think they have a Similar feel in volume as Le Labo ( meaning you will smell it all day long and everyone is in a 2 block radius will smell you too).
In addition to Terroni and Boccanera I enjoyed the musk focused one ( semenalis?) as well, all others I did not like at all.

    Enjoy your purchase

I have tried three of the earlier releases which for me were all let-downs. If I recall correctly, they were Stercus, Brutus and Boccanera.

I had a sample of Bergamask - that stuff was nuclear and I went with my usual 4-5 sprays, so I was choking on it.

Bumping this....I am curious if anyone else has feedback on the brand?
Seems like Nasomatto was more popular/well received and orto parisi tried to ride in on the back of nasomatto's success. Ive heard some of the scents of orto parisi compared to black afghano?

I've tried Stercus and another one. It was fine--yes, similar to Black Afgano--and not nearly as horrifying as some people make it out to be.

There are many negative comments about Orto Parisi floating around out there, but just personally I really enjoy my Boccanera for the cold weather. Very cozy and comforting. I think Viride is an interesting scent as well. Both are very dense and remind me of Slumberhouse scents.

I think Nasomatto overshadows this line, and it never got the blog and YouTube hype, which almost matters more than the smell itself.

Many reviews i see compare orto to nasomatto, boccanera/pardon, stercus/black afgano. I like gaultieri's ideas on scent and plan to try all of them at some point.

I wore today Boccanera at work and received compliments from female co-workers. The dark chocolate with chilly seems to do a great job on cool weather.

Agreed. I found Black Afghano great, but not unique, a more refined version of Gucci Intense Oud and LM Black Oud. Same for Duro, but it's just a (slightly) more refined version of Montale Aoud Musk. Same for Blamage, a more refine version of CdG. Same for Baraonda, a good boozy frag, but that deosn't arrive at the foot of Jovoy les Jeux Sont Faits Nothing that really deserved its price tag imo (unicity is the only thing that deserves it imo).

On the other side, I found all Orto Parisi's frags from great to mindblowing. Stercus, Terroni, Viride, Bergamask are all masterpieces imo. Megamare and Boccanera are also great. Not wowed by Seminalis and Brutus, but still, solid frags.
I have the feeling OP is the "present" from Gualtieri to fragheads... More experimental/creative juices kept under-the-radar, priced like NM, but you get 50ml instead of 30ml....

A little like for wines: everybody knows the famous red wine from Burgundy "Romanee-Conti", priced $15k-30k depending of the vintage, but only wine-heads know that the nearby vineyard "La Tache", which is owned by the same estate (DRC) and from which 3-4X less bottles are produced because its surface is much smaller.
It's a much less sought one and priced at "just" $5k-10k. Some says the wines from this vineyard are even more refined than its superstar neighbour...

I really enjoyed Boccanera when I tried it, despite I'm usually not found of the chocolate note in fragrances, and that says much!
Viride is one of the top 3 green frags I ever happened to smell. Period. A masterpiece of creativity. Mindblowing imo.

Tried them all. I'm copying my thoughts from a previous response:

Andy, have you tried Nudiflorum or Pardon? Thoughts?

Yes. I don't remember well Nudiflorum tbh. But since I don't remember it, that says it all .

Pardon is all about chocolate. A good one, but I don;t like chocolate note in perfumes, so I may not be very objective. Imo, Orto Parisi Boccanera is more interesting, for what I remember.

Very nice to hear. I thought I was one of the few who liked Boccanera.

Where did you get them from? Since the house doesn't sell samples

Tried the line in store and didnít like any of them, but then I also donít like any Nasomatto other than Hindu Grass so Iím probably not in the target market. Too heavy handed and overbearing for my liking.
