    Default Winter frag

    Hey there!
Here is the deal: I want to buy winter frag but I guess I have to do it blind. And my short list looks like this (from what I found in retail for ok prices in my region):
    1. Mancera Black Line 60ml
    2. Montale Black Aoud 20ml
    3. Van Cleef & Arpels Bois Doré 75ml
    4. Narciso Rodriguez For Him EAU 100ml
What bottle will be the safest or maybe even just the best purchase overall?

    Thanks in advance

Montale Black Aoud used to be great but I strongly suspect it has been reformulated for the worse, based on personal experience, so I would suggest you to perhaps avoid that one.

Welcome to Basenotes. I'm not so familiar with the fragrances mentioned, but may I ask why you wish to blind buy when there are fragrance shops in Minsk like Парфюмист (Perfumist) in the Galleria mall? That specific store carries several niche houses that you can try.

NR For him is the winner I guess. But just to be sure: is there any good winter masculine rose frag?

There are a lot of stores in Minsk where I can test perfumes. The problem is that their pricing strategy is ridiculous: literally multiplying price by 2, 3 or even more if the frag is "niche". Maybe for foreigners and some people here it's acceptable, but I'm not that kind of man, sorry.

I mean that you can see what you like in stores, and then order something you know you like from an online discounter, rather than blind buying.

Lemon Line would be my choice.

When you say Narciso Rodriguez For Him EAU do you mean the Eau De Toilette grey looking bottle? If so, I'd say no as a blind buy. Firstly I think it is one of those scents that many people won't like, and secondly I don't think it works as a winter scent. I consider it more of a "dull days, sun is not out, spring or autumn scent".

Apart from so many great suggestions already mentioned, also taking the liberty to add, at the very least for some (re) testing:

at least one of the Van Cleef&Arpels gourmands, particularly but not limited to Midnight in Paris
    Burberry London
    Eau des Baux
    Rochas Man
several among the Jacques Bogart gourmands available, considering and adding apart from any particular order especially Riviera Nights and/or Bogart pour Homme
    Ck One Shock
most of the Zara gourmand and/or tobacco dominated choices, particularly but again not limited to Black Tag Intense and/or Tobacco Collection

Also, among the ones already mentioned in the thread staring post, especially (yet not exclusively, but still within a "short list" of personal favorites) seconding especially:

    Narciso Rodriguez For Him Eau
