Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Robin-in-Fl - "Yeet" just is another way of saying 'Yay!', expressing excitement.

I forgot to pos my SOTD yesterday - I wore L'Heure Exquise by Bortnikoff. Wow, what an exotic scent. Citruses. Champaca. Cocoa. Oud. There is a candied sort of smell to this, but I wouldn't classify it as a gourmand. Hard to explain. I love it.

This morning I'm up an hour earlier than normal, to go to Cross Fit (I have to be into work an hour early) just in a tiny bit of this:

Rain, rain, go away! I'm pretty sure it's rained every day for the past 3 weeks - it's monsoon season in Yorkshire!

Cosying up with 2 Shalimars (no such thing as too much Shali) - early 2000s EdT layered with Parfum Initial L'Eau for a kick of extra iris, it really pretties up the EdT's stinky bergamot in the opening!

Sending happy, summery vibes to everyone (in the hope that some will come back to me!).

Spritz and dash for me today -

Nina Ricci Farouche (though my bottle is a mini and looks nothing like this - it's like a decorative bumpy glass travel spray!).

Mitsouko vintage EdT (and I showered with the Bar Soap before also) by Guerlain

MissHestaJones - I just got in a new 'vintage' Shalimar Eau de Cologne. The last bottle I bought, it sort of turned...and I didn't realize it until I'd already worn it several times. Normally Shalimar ages very well...but this one had a sourness to it that made it slightly uncomfortable to wear, so I tossed it and got a gold/black box 1 oz for less than $20. Can't beat that. I think the EdC is definitely most worn version of Shalimar, and probably my most worn fragrance ever, of everything I own.

Mike, I've not tried the cologne, but I've heard it's very similar to L'Eau de Shalimar. I'm really enjoying the Parfum Initial L'Eau, though!

Oh I disagree. The EdC is very iris prominent. Powdery. Less leather but the same amount of vanilla. The L'Eau de Shalimar is brighter, more citric, very lemony...less powdery, almost no iris notes. I love and enjoy both. Preferably the vintage L'Eau de Shalimar (which is called Shalimar Eau Legere).

I tried Shalimar Parfum Initial L'Eau two times - both times I disliked it so I stopped re-trying it. I guess it's not for me. But it definitely has its fans.
