If you recall reading it in a post, I'm sure a Basenotes sleuth will find it as I'd like to know what it talked about also.

I believe it’s just a packaging change with minor cosmetic updates, no reformulations.

Dior Homme EdT was just reformulated in late 2018.
    Current formulation is 12244/A.
I doubt, they will reformulate it again this year unless they have to due to new restrictions to certain ingredients.

Dior Homme Intense has got a new packaging too and is still the formulation 10950/A like last year.

    Dior Homme Parfum is discontinued.

Do you have any evidence that DHP is discontinued? Someone recently purchased a bottle that was produced in April 2019. Same formula code as 2014.

The best formulations to this day for any of the flankers are the original formulation period, that's where I would invest my money.

I have a March 2019 DHP and it is still for sale at some UK Department stores and on the Dior France website , so my guess is that it may be available only in specific markets

I literally just purchased a 50ml of Dior Homme this morning - I was instantly sceptical because a picture I have looked at had a black stem inside of the bottle. With my original Homme it had a silver stem inside - this is an instant red flag for me, usually when I see the bottle change the scent isn't far behind.

As soon as I got out of the retail location I couldn't wait to spray it on - INSTANT regret. Should have trusted my instincts.

Now i'm scouring the internet seeing where I could purchase the original silver stem bottle - ebay is ridiculous but Im fighting caving it.

The amount of times women would compliment me on this original fragrance was unbelievable.

Reading this post is discouraging about the line. Would really like to relive this original scent some how.

I heard that Dior staff in the UK had been on some training and that there would be some kind of event for DH in June of this year. Looks like the bottle of DHI changed but that's about it! Not sure if something was planned and was then pulled, but I had heard about it from a number of Dior reps at the same time as they'd all been on this training. There was meant to be a supporting ad campaign too IIRC.

It's been discontinued in some territories for a while. Not sure of the current situation but it pretty much vanished from the UK for a long time. Occasionally, a batch of stock seems to pop up from time to time (Escentual had some fairly recently) but it's not the norm. Seems to be available in some countries though.

People continue perpetuating this, but I have not seen any confirmation that the fragrance is actually completely discontinued. Distribution is simply limited.

I saw it many times in Germany, Belgium, and Italy last month.

    Ok guys, here we go:

I noticed, that Dior Homme Parfum was not available online during a few months late 2018 in Germany. Even not at Diors official webshop.
After they restocked it there, only two official Dior online dealers received it again.

So I asked a customer assistant at the German Dior official webshop what's going on with DHP. He wasn't aware about it has been temporarly sold out and promised to ask a colleague directly at Dior France, who has to know such things. He got back to me and told me, that he was told that DHP is going to be discontinued soon. He didn't know, when exactly this would happen.

Since then, those two big online sellers (Flaconi and Parfumdreams/Douglas) haven't got it in stock again, only the official Dior webshop got very few amounts from time to time.
Currently aside the official webshop, there are only two greymarket sellers, which have it available: https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich...75ml-dior.html - just look at the price tag, which starts at 189 Euros - do you think, they could ask for that much money, if you could buy it elsewhere easily for under 100 Euros?
Note: Idealo is German's most popular bestprice search engine.
Just for comparison here a search result for the regular DH: https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich...ette-dior.html

Yes, you can get it now at Dior's official webshop - but no one knows, if it will be restocked when sold out again.

I'm clearly not interested in spreading panic. It's quite obvious, that DHP isn't currently produced on a regular basis. If that would be the case, all the official authorized Dior sellers would have it in stock, but they haven't and tell their customers that they aren't able to backorder it.

And afaik DHP never was a official release in the US market - but here in Germany, since it's introduction until mid to late 2018, you could have bought it everywhere.

In regards to Dior Homme Intense and the new 2019 packaging please take a look at this thread, which I started a while ago: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/465...e-Intense-2019

Why do you think a formula code might change? Have a wild guess.

    From that blog post:

Beware: a changing in Number/Formula means the composition changed; but this does NOT automatically mean the "smelling" changed, too: actually it could be possible having a change in the formula, leaving the smell unaltered, and vice versa (a bit unlikely, however...)
So, no, a new formula code does not necessarily mean a significant alteration in composition, which is my point. We've had enough threads looking at these formula codes and equating different codes as different, significant, formulations.

In case of Dior Homme EdT, the current 12244/A smells clearly different in comparison to the 05434/A (2010 - 2014) formulation. I like the current one that much better, that I bought 4 bottles (100ml) of a particular batch.
And I can assure you that isn't just mazeration and we are not talking about nuances here.

But in general, it's true, that a change of formulation code doesn't mean, that the smell has noticeably changed, too.

Maybe you should give it a few more tries, sometimes those first sprays from a fresh bottle can be a bit off/weak.

I have two different versions of Dior Homme. The bottom right of the box has a formula code which tells you which version you have easily. I have the original silver stem and the first reformulation. I like the first reformulation better. There was a 2nd reformulation at least, but I've not tried it as I have 3 bottels of 1rst reformulation to last me forever.

EDIT: Are you asking about only Dior Homme or the entire flankers too? The only one that has received a lot of change is DHI where vintage is head and shoulders above the rest (and I mean above the rest as in all other fragrances, its amazing).

Yeah, that's why I edited out my first thoughts about the new Fahrenheit EdT formulation in the thread about that one.
Need to try it a few more times to get to a final verdict.

The new current Dior Homme however is such a nice, kind of modernized version of the original formulation and I highly recommend it!

Definitely give new Dior Homme EDT more time, it’s nice and a well put together fragrance. I’ve never smelled silver stem version, but all the modern have smelled nice and consistent my fresh 2018 bottle smells excellent. Some times vintage can be better but what’s currently available is no slouch 10/10 for me.
Fragrance is my favorite thing. So much so that if I leave the house and I don't put any on, I'll turn around and go back home.

Don't even bother vintage DHomme. It's nice, yes, but it has a hint of some "rotten" smell that the reformulation doesn't. And vintage doesn't last longer either. DHI Vintage, though, that is masterpiece. Smells like DHI with chocolate added and does last and project forever.

Even though it's not the same quality but Valentino Uomo Intense has some kind of chocolatey nuances beside the leather and is quite potent. Maybe that one would be a good alternative to vintage DHI nowadays?

Nope it doesn't have to. It's still a reformulation though even if imperceptible.

I think vintage DH EDT is my favourite of all the versions of this. It does have a sweaty feel to it, in a good way to my nose. When it comes to DHI I don't think I have a favourite version and have enjoyed them all.

There was a rumour about a new addition to the Dior Homme line this year. That’s the only rumour I was really excited about. Still a few months left in the year, so it could still happen.

I have Valentino too. It is a great fragrance, but its very linear. Probably it is a good alternative to what DHI is now, but the vintage stuff is just too good.

I found late 2018 DHI bottles really nice, too. Much better than 2016 and 2017 ones I've tried - though it was the same formulation.
Also the new packaged DHI from early 2019 was surprisingly good!
As I don't trust Dior to keep up that quality the next years, I bought a lot of backup bottles from those batches.
