Default Amouage: what do you think is the sleeper or under-rated of the line?

    Very curious about your thoughts.

Opus VI. Or the whole of the Opus line really. Basenotes rarely ever talks about them.

I think Sunshine Man, because it's seems so polarizing. I think it just needs to be given a chance beyond initial impressions; it's a nice take on lavender with a modern twist. I quite like Beach Hut Man, but don't know if I would consider it underrated as it has a pretty good reputation. Reflection Man, up until a few years ago, seemed a bit under the radar due to the succession of bonafide hits that came after it, but it has slowly and steadily garnered a fair share of fans as well.

I would agree with this for the exact reason mentioned.

Thank you all for your answers.

And Nastka, what do you enjoy particularly about Opus VI.

I'm partial to incense fragrances, and thought that this one was particularly well done. It was on the drier end, and slightly spicy and herbal. It was a long time since I have tried this though. I'm not even sure if my local counter stock the Opus series anymore.

+1 for Opus VI. Guess I'm being slightly biased because I am an amber guy.

    Journey or Bracken

I think both are well known, but don’t get the hype of a few of the others. Both are fantastic!

I agree with the above that the Opus series is highly underrated. I had tried a couple of their fragrances from that line and they are artistic and may not fall in line with what you would wear daily or even practical.

I think Bracken man is underrated. at the moment , I am enjoying Bracken more than any other amouage I own.

Most their mediocre and bad scents (most of their recent releases) get way more attention than they should, so it's hard to pick a "sleeper"

I guess the closest I could think of to something like that is Opus V. A pretty good scent that I don't see talked about at all here.

But the Tribute/Homage/Epic/Lyric/Memoir days are long gone it seems.

Yep, Beloved Man. Nary a whisper these days. Usually peeps here pine for days past viz Dia or Ciel, or whine about the Epic Man reformulation, or how recent releases are too Western, but ignore that classy, elegant elemi/floral bomb that is Beloved Man.

Out of all the ones I've tried (10+), I only have bought two fragrances from Amouage - Sunshine Man and Reflection Man.
I like Interlude, too, but that one is certainly not underhyped.

Honour Man is the only Amouage to garner me a compliment. But there are a number of Honour Man promoters that I've read here and elsewhere.

Opus VII isn’t totally under the radar but to me it probably is one that hasn’t been discovered by the masses just yet.

I think the whole Opus line could have been better thought out to be fair. The numbers don’t do the fragrances justice.

Interesting take. Can't say I've seen much talk about Honour, but I don't contest it's happening now, haha!

Bracken, Dia, Journey and Opus VII are indeed underrated. I'd also add Gold and Myths.

A gentlemen's cologne. A very rare item that doesn't get talked about much. It does require a certain nose in order to appreciate it.

Definitely Honour Man. A beautiful peppery incense scent. There are hundreds of woody/peppery/incense scents, but it has more depth and complexity than most others. Smells great.

Ciel Man never got a lot of attention, but is more interesting than most releases from the house over the last decade.
Rare, vintage, and niche off-site sales.
    Big list of niche splits.
