Thanks, Shycat! Somehow l survived, but l wouldn't want to repeat a day like today too often.

And yes, that is a bummer, when someone you love loves a fragrance you hate.

Thank you Cook.bot for dissuading me from adopting that kitten. A night of sleeping on it, and the realization that in a 1000 sq ft house I really have nowhere to put another litter box finally decided me. He is really cute and someone else will adopt him very soon I'm sure.

I'm wearing IcyHot on both knees after a mountain hike turned into a downhill dash for the car as it began to rain. I had reached the top and was heading down when the drizzle turned into steady rain. I had visions of skidding downhill on the muddy trail, falling on my a$$ and generally being a sodden dirty mess by the end, but Fortune was with me and I was only moderately wet at the end, but my knees are paying the price. Might put on some Imaginary Authors Mint 26.

Cabaret used to get quite a bit of chatter here on FFD, Cook.bot! I know we have some fans here; as I recall, our much-missed twolf had enormous love for this one. Something of a cult gem, it seems. I thought it was a Roucel, too!

Having a sampling day, courtesy of our dear HoP. Starting off in Vanille Violette by Laurence Dumont; very pretty-sweet, powdery and girly. Would be nice on days when Insolence is just too much!

I failed to finish the foyer painting, in spite of your good wishes, cestrum. Almost done though! Just doing some extra coats on the trim near the floor, the part that was most beat-up. Adding to the work, I now have to touch up the front door. White walls with black door=oops.

Vanille Violette is mauuvelous, dahling -- and also, hard to find...

I'll be thinking of you Teardrop. Double shifts are truly difficult.

I'm cleaning out dresser drawers to dust and organize. I impulsively spritzed a sample of Eau de Merveilles by Hermes and wrote a pretty scathing review. Shortly afterward gracefully accepted the second-ever-in-his-whole-life fragrance related compliment from my dear son. "I like that perfume you have on."

    Bummer, man.

I don't particularly enjoy EDM, either...

I have a small decant of it. I won't toss it. I just don't wear it very often. I expected more out of it, as it was highly recommended by someone who used to be a member here. I'm just glad I didn't buy a full bottle.

Reminds me of a joke ...
Driver picks up a hitchhiker, and the hitchhiker asks, "Aren't you afraid I might be a psychopathic killer?
"No," says the driver, "what are the odds of there being two in the same car?"
    I don't want to. I don't have to. You can't make me. I'M RETIRED.
