Default The attar wand- to use or not to use. That is the question.

It’s a conundrum. Do you use the bottle and application method as it was designed or do you do something else to apply that won’t “contaminate” the oil? I find myself doing both, but would really rather just go for a swipe using the wand. What do you do? Do you really think it matters?

I don't use the wand, I favor plastic toothpicks and never double dip. With some of the sandalwood oils that I bought years back, I did use the wand and started to notice an accumulation of particulates in the bottom. Probably not 100% dead skin cells, but surely not 0% either. Does it affect the composition or smell? Really I have no idea, but erring on the side of caution for me is as simple as taking a toothpick out of a box and dipping/swiping with that instead.

My skin is quite oily so I wouldn't just because I know that oil would mix. Toothpicks seem like a good way to go.

I use the wand and don't worry.
If one is worried, I guess the suggested use of a plastick pick (that one can clean after use) should do it.

I owned a few cheaper attars at one time. I'd dab / swipe, on the skin, then wipe off the wand with a tissue or cotton ball - whichever was handier.

That’s what the wand is for, isn’t it? I have far bigger worries, to be honest...

I don't like to use the wand either but it's a real PIA to find a place to put the wand without making a serious mess and/or losing precious drops of an expensive oud oil or attar.

Some people will cut the wand off if it's plastic, keep the stopper and then just use plastic toothpicks or thin glass wands to apply.
