Exclamation Your bottom shelf (or shelves) NOW

I suppose you're also ranking your perfumes.

Some perfumes you like, but for some reason you don't wear them often.
Some perfumes you don't really like, but you will keep them.
Some perfumes you don't like. You will sell them.

So which are your perfumes from the bottom shelf?

    Mine are:

    Comme des Garcons Blue Ences
    Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose
    Cuba Gold
    Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio
    Al Haramain Oudh 36

    Burberry London

Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui (don't like first half hour)
    Chanel Bleu EDT (don't like)
Rasasi Al Wisam Day (don't like)

I will sell them or whatever:

For me - None in the last two categories. Too many to list in the first category.
Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not.

First to mind is Encre Noir.
Love it love it, very infrequently wear it. Lol happy just happy to have it, top ranking bottle too!!
Similarly Habit Rouge, nice to have as a reference, not going to enough swanky occasions to wear it.
Lol see UK sales thread for my gone out of favour, wont miss them frags!

I don't really sell my fragrances, but I'm looking for a way to get rid of these (maybe someone I know will want to take them from me some day, or I might bring them to local Caritas or something):
Salvador Dali Itislove EDT 15 ml mini
Boucheron Place Vendome EDT 5 ml mini
    L'Erbolario Tiare 50 ml bottle
DSquared2 Wood for her 1 ml carded tester spray.

I just don't see myself using them up in a way that doesn't include using them as a bathroom spray.

Well, pretty much anything on my Swap List qualifies. But as far as stuff not on my Swap List:

DUNHILL Icon - A gift from my wife. I think it's an excellent modern designer fragrance (mixing neroli eau de cologne with an oudy base is clever), but I don't wear it often just because I only really enjoy it in crisp, cool weather.

LALIQUE Encre Noire - A unique creation that I don't really enjoy wearing. My wife loves it, though, so I can't ditch it.

SALVADOR DALÍ Le Roy Soleil Pour Homme - Another one my wife loves. I think it's nice, but it's just not my thing. Falls in that sorta-dandyish arena where I can admire it as a composition but don't connect with it as an expression of my personality.

S.T. DUPONT Passenger Escapade - A gift from my wife. A uniquely dark aquatic with a lot of teakwood. I just rarely find a time when it syncs with my mood.

+1 - top drawer ( lol no pun intended turn of speech , well here in the UK anyway!) frag, just haven worn it so often. And our summer is looking like its staying until the end of September and I'm eager for Autumn to hit proper and pull out all the A/W frags (most of my wardrobe I fear skews thataway)

Anything in my swap list is for sale. I don't wear them at all. They aren't "bottom shelf" per se - I just don't love them anymore. I won't use any of them even for one last spray.

Ouch, it seems like your and your wife's tastes on fragrances are quite the opposite. I hope there are at least several fragrances both of you like!

Actually, quite the contrary! We mostly agree and regularly wear each other's fragrances. These are just a few cases where we're not quite in alignment.

She's actually told me that I could put Passenger Escapade on my swap list, but I've been reluctant to do that just because it's unique.

It doesn't help that I have other scents in the "contemporary, elegant, slightly formal" category, like Lalique Homage a L'Homme and Cartier L'Envol. They're all different but end up competing for wear time.

I would probably have a quite similar list. (I do like Terre d'Hermes EDP though.) Cheaper tobacco scents, in particular cherry tobacco are just not things that seem to interest me much anymore.
    Most worn:

Black Comme des Garçons, Borneo 1834 Serge Lutens, Patchouli Santa Maria Novella

I have a tobacco-dominated collection, but many of my cheaper tobacco scents have moved on to new owners. I think a number of cheap tobacco scents are really quite good, but they also tend to be simple and straightforward.

That said, I consider a number of cheaper tobacco scents in my collection to be keepers (especially Aramis Havana).

I feel the same about those two he'd just as soon turf. I do like Havana quite a lot though, and probably wear Slumberhouse's Baque (pipe tobacco) about as much as anything in the fall.

I still like Latour Cigar plenty and have no plans to ditch it. I suppose it's kinda/sorta redundant with Havana, the superior fragrance, being in my collection and having a similar "tropical" ambience, but I find Cigar's boozy, overripe plum/pineapple feel to be distinctive in its own way. I also find it exceedingly easy to wear.

An also not-insignificant consideration: my wife loves it when I wear Cigar and always compliments me when I have it on (she likes Havana, too, but isn't as enthusiastic about it, finding it a bit stodgier).

I haven't tried Baque just because it's pricey to get a sample, but I'm sure it's lovely.

I went through a Mugler phase after I came around on A*Men and its flankers, which had be delving into the women’s range as well. While I like Angel and Angel Muse, they’re not things I ever think to wear, so both those bottles are heading to my “give away” group. As is Aura, which I appreciate as a composition, but which really just doesn’t work for me (and it’s also so damn loud). Oh, and yes, I picked up Alien Essence Absolue back when I was trying hard to get into Alien (yeah, I’ve had my try-hard moments), but honestly, Alien is pretty repulsive to me at this point.

But hey, the A*Men line and Mugler Cologne are still big winners for me, so, yay!

I don't have a bottom shelf per se, just because I tend to cherish/savor things I love more (and thus wear them less), going with "easy" or "dumb" reach things for my daily grind (pretty much my most worn attests to that). So for me, what I reach for more often is paradoxically what I don't mind running out of or can easily replace, while what I reach for less might be something I'm in love with, but only have a finite amount of it and can't back it up due to price or scarcity, or just don't want the novelty to wear off so I use it sparingly.
