It does, and at no stage does it disappoint. If you like elegant vintage Italian aromatic fougères—and I do—you can't go wrong with this. (Rather like the hats in that regard.)

What can you tell me about the Alain Delon Classic? Is it a faithful representation of first edition AD? I haven't tried any of the AD line yet.

That's a nice exterior shot of one of your Paco Rabanne Pour Homme bottles. It's nice to have a first version.

I haven't tried the first edition , unfortunately, thou i have the shave foam ,which i think is from the first edition line.Much difference I can't detect but i'm not sure it's the right way to compare them. Smells great and worth to have it.

Oh, yeah. It's a vague sweet kinda "leather", and generally has a metallic/synthetic/cucumber vibe that I can best describe as Chrome-like, providing me with a headache that grinds away in the lower back of my scull. No warmth at all. Uomo Trussardi instead of Trussardi Uomo, if that makes sense

Yes, i like the vintage very very much. It was one of my father's favourite perfumes and one of the first i have tried as a child.
Here the rest of the first edition bottles and one of the second edition bottles.
The one you have smelled came from the biggest bottle of them.

I love hearing those background details. I was trying to think how Paco Rabanne fits in with some of your other favorites, and this background nicely satisfies my curiosity.

For anyone reading in passing: the first version of Paco Rabanne has the rounded top-part of the lower-case r (I believe).

You sent me a sample from the big, 2nd-version bottle?

I bought a 2nd version soon after that, the one bottle I still have. I was interested to read that Basenoter Aero likes the 4th version.

As happens sometimes, about one time in three, or so, maybe one in four, the bottle I got wasn't quite as nice as the samples I'd tried. After a couple years, though, I think it might have softened and rounded a little. It was always at least approximately 90% the same as what I'd sampled.

I got a nice compliment on Paco Rabanne Pour Homme during the last wearing.

Do you think PRPH doesn't fit to the rest of my favourites ?
If i am not mistaken the sample i have sent you was from the big bottle (1Lt).
I used to have one more bottle of 480ml first edition but you know what happened to it....

That was the other one (sorry for the photo, it was taken in a hurry about 3 years ago..)

I suppose it does fit fairly well. The volume of backups had seemed on the high end, but makes sense to me now.

Hosting a dinner party, and wanted a fragrance that said “benevolent patriarch.” (I’m not sure Nobile actually says that, but at least it smells good.)

I see what you did, and I like it. Nobile is a favorite of mine.

My SOTN has no name brand. But it does have a name - Mysore sandalwood oil. And it’s 80 years old. And it’s heavenly.
