Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Good morning all. I'm up way too early. My sister and I went down to Atlanta on Friday to see Adam Ant again--I'm afraid we've started a tradition. He puts on a good show--it's a percussion fest. We had a lovely time together with no childhood trauma rehash this time, thank goodness. Saturday we visited the Atlanta aquarium where I was totally impressed the whale sharks. HUGE. They had four of them, and I wasn't expecting one so when it just "appeared" in the tank (our viewing window was the size of a movie screen) it made me realize how the word awesome is overused. Truly, my mouth fell open and I wished for my brother so badly that it washed over me again how much I love him. The place was wheelchair accessible and I am hatching second trip plans--he should see it!

Now I'm back home and off to scoop up a puddle of terror (aka Mr. Cat) and drive him up to Nashville to have his wisdom teeth cut out and some kind of laser gum regeneration surgery on the rest. I'll be there 3 1/2 hours and have promised to listen for any screams. I told him, "Sure. I did that for a living."

Got a book to read and L'Heure Bleu for myself. Happy Monday!!!!

Good afternoon all !. Shycat, that sounds like a great trip . I remember seeing a basking shark from the helicopter when we were travelling from the Cornish mainland to the Isles of Scilly. We couldn't believe how enormous it was

Shy, I'm not much of a reader, but I could read anything you write all the day long. Best wishes for Mr. Cat.

Summer's back! The temps jumped 20° from yesters, so 80°F/26°C today and ... is it possible to have more than 100% humidity? I'm cooling things down with the coniferous Winter by Dasein.

Thank you dear, for the good wishes. They didn't work, but thanks. He had a rough time--and after I'd been so reassuring and ultimately snapped "Stop being so dramatic." He kept saying "Before they rip my mouth out.." and by the fourth time I'd heard that phrase enough.

Then I'm sitting in the waiting room listening to intimate family details (alcoholism, deaths, financials, work history) of a 67 year old lady when we all did hear a scream. A manly kinda scream, heart felt and straight from the gut, as they cut out and pulled out a stubborn upper wisdom tooth. Then some moaning. Then some...okay, a lot of coughing and choking and moaning.

It was like an episode of Seinfield...another patient commented with wide, nervous eyes "Boy. Somebody's having a rough time back there." Just then the nurse came out to explain they had difficulty and that the irrigation seems to make him think he was drowning. WATERBOARDING. He was mostly unconscious though and they couldn't make him understand.

When it was over they wheeled him out and tilted the chair so he spilled into my front seat. I'd have never discharged someone from my recovery room in that shape and I couldn't turn right around and dump him in his own bed.....I had to call my son for help to unload him at my house and together we dragged Mr. Cat to my own favored recliner. He had to throw up some in a handy but sadly not particularly waterproof box. I got his shirt off to soak so it wouldn't be ruined, covered him with a blankie, and let him lay there for two hours, unarousable, unconscious-- drooling on an old beach towel.

I took his picture and sent it to my sister.

Shycat - I've been to that aquarium. It *is* awesome. How nice of you that you're playing nurse. ((bear hugs))

I friggin had such an enjoyable time wearing my SOTD (Koh-I-Noor by Areej le Dore) I almost didn't want to take a shower and wash it off. It's a stunner. And I used to dislike musk. But this one...it's the most unique musk scent I've ever experienced.

Nonetheless a shower was had. I am now scent twins with donna255 in:
