Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Wednesday, 2nd October, 2019

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I think we owe it to the Basenotes Robot to include a picture of the scent that he/she/it is wearing today -- if only to discourage him/her/it in the future.

The Nicki Minaj bottle is probably sitting proudly on our dear robot's shelf.

    I'm wearing Rabarbaro today.

Silences by Jacomo. I'm feeling pensive and it is a pensive scent. Everything is fine, just working through the High Holydays in fragrance form.

Working my way through some recent samples in Masque Milano Kinsugi.

Currently too stuffed up to smell anything, though the note list indicates I will probably like it when I *can* smell it.

    Wonderful Wednesday, everyone!

Kintsugi notes: Bergamot, magnolia, amber, suede, rose, violet leaf, benzoin, raspberry leaf, patchouli, vanilla.

Very drab today. Dark, gloomy and pouring down rain. Made for a horrible drive into work. I really have come to despise commuting...it's like a black hole - just sucks the energy right out of you when you start your day off crawling to work for an hour. Ugh.

Hello and best to everyone. A good holiday to Jujy, Caz, and everyone else observing.

SOTD is Elie Saab Le Parfum, from a sample. Elegant, formal, and very pretty, one of the breed of “new”, oakmoss free chypres.

    Hi All

Starting out on my sampling rotation for October with L'Eau Scandaleuse (Anatole Lebreton), which is coming on like Azurée with a dollop of waxy tuberose - this is a good thing!

So nice to read about the Montreal meetup! Congrats, all of you!

More good wishes for Mr. Shycat!

I'm in vintage MPG Fleurs des Comores, from a sample. I would never say this to anyone for their scent choice except you, Basenotes Robot: shame on you!

I'm going to twin Phleg in Smolderose later because I just got a new discovery pack from January Scent Project, with their three new scents in it. What a lovely marketing package John Beibel does, with the art cards and the mouilettes and all. Even the tissue paper is nice.

I used up all my previous samples from them, and now it's time to decide on a bottle.

Can the contents possibly be as horrific as the presentation ?.

    Good Morning!

It is a great feeling to have some space in my life to start posting again.

Everyone is smelling great, as always. Except I cannot speak for Basenotes Robot's choice as I have not explored celebrities' scents that far... Although, I did recently discover Ariana Grande's Cloud which I do find enjoyable.

rynegne - I can relate. We have what infamously called Albuquerque Westside Traffic where population of the suburban Westiside squeezes into few bridges to cross Rio Grand to the Eastside that contains majority of all local employers. If there is a crash on one of the bridges, it can take hours to get to work or back to home. Luckily, my current employer allows me to come and leave a little early so it is a little more tolerable.

PerfumedLady - I forgot about that one! Fleur des Comores - black currant and vanilla, if memory serves me right...It's a cozy, pretty beauty .

I really missed you all wonderful people of BN!

SOTD - Jo Malone Blue Hyacinth My last Basenotes meetup purchase. Today it smells a bit perfume-y, my fragrance tastes changed considerably alas.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Thanks, CwAlice, HoP, and foxbins. Mr. Q is counting the days to getting cleared for activity. After 4 weeks, he can go for new glasses. We removed one lens from his current glasses, which looks bizarre given that there's just a top frame there now.

I feel for Mr. Cat who lost his mother and had dental surgery, one thing after the other. How's he holding up, Shy?

Clear nasal passages wished for the very fine nose of one ComDiva.

Whitefluffy sighting! What a gleeful feeling to see you here where you belong.

The moody weather finally calls for Bois des Iles today.
