Default Winter Fragrance for Young Adult

    Hi,

Live in Canada, so winters are really cold, I'm looking to add a winter fragrance to my collection something for someone in their 25. A fragrance thats more of a crowd pleaser (office & university).

Was looking at the Tom Fords (Noir de Noir, Tobacco Vanille) but I'm afraid that they won't suit my age.

    Any recommendations?

Should be fine for your age. Why not? Do you enjoy them?

That's a fairly good list with many good choices.

I would suggest Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille over TF Tobacco Vanille

Thierry Mugler Pure Malt is another good option.

The Tom Fords are fine for your age, but mane of them are not a crowd pleaser. I would recommend Tobacco Vanille if you are already interested in it. Also try Tuscan Leather.

Warm for winter but also sweet and youthful? Sounds like a job for Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme or La Nuit de L'Homme. Also, I might recommend Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men, Paco Rabanne One Million, Chanel Allure Homme, or Versace Man.

If you wanna spend the kind of money Tom Ford Private Blends command, I'd give Parfums de Marly Oajan a try, or Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle Musc Ravageur a go.

All these strike me as good wintertime scents that give forth a certain youthfulness. No dry woods, mossiness, dandy florals, herbs, overt spices or smoke.

You'll get a lot of mileage out of L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau de Parfum (aka LIDGE), a warm cacao scent.

But, since you're looking at Tom Ford, I assume you have money to burn. If you wanna go niche, instead of Tobacco Vanille, get Phaedon Tabac Rouge. It's the better option.

You can smell great for not a lot of money, if you wish.

...are all things I wear in Canada in winter, and you can find for under $60. All are excellent in the cold. And all are suitable for someone 25.

I wear both of those tom fords and I'm 27. I think it's totally fine for your age. Other suggestions you might like in the sweet niche category would be Roja Dove enigma Guerlain SDV, PDM Herod, Or Creed Royal Oud/Original Santal if you are ok with something fresher and crowd pleasing

    Three to consider:

    The One Eau de Parfum

    Terre d'Hermes

    Ombre Leather

I will also suggest YSL L'Homme...while it can absolutley be used year round, it is also pretty much "age proof" and the ladies love it. They don't love it as much as La Nuit de L'Homme, which is also another good choice.

I would also suggest Memoirs of a Trespasser from Imaginary Authors. Vanilla and Guaic Wood are the main scent notes, making it warm, inviting and sweet. Go easy on the trigger and you'll be smelling great. It is a bit complex, but certainly not unwearable for a young man.

I'm not sure if those you mentioned are crowd pleasers, but they're great choices, IMO. Going Tom Ford, you could also try Ombre Leather or Noir Extreme.
Many other good suggestions made already for someone your age, especially the YSL L'Homme and LaNuit, D&G the One EDP, and so many others. You can't miss with all theh great suggestions you've been given in here.

Sad as it is, sweet ambery fruity gourmandy stuff rules the younger crowd.

At least it's marginally better than galaxolide ambroxan norlimbanol fresh laundry/dishsoap bombs, which is what they want for summer.

We were all there once. I still have my original bottles of Nautica and CK Crave to attest.

Right now I have La Nuit de l'Homme, The One EDP, Sauvage, Aventus, Prada Homme and Homme Intense. I think my collection is pretty "sweet".

Looking for something that is a crowd pleaser, youthful but not cheap smelling sort to say since I work at a big accounting firm (image is everything). I read a lot of interesting niche suggestions, my only issue since they are niche its harder to sample and I don't want to bling buy one.

Not sure where in the world you are, but higher end department stores usually have some niche lines. Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, etc.

I would second L'Occitane's Eau des Baux. It is not sweet at all, its a spicy, deep, incense/cypress/vanilla scent that is truly magnificent and absolutely worth every penny. And the pennies you'll need to obtain it are significantly less than many others that have been suggested. People regularly offer partially used bottles on here in the $30-$40 range. It gets a LOT of love on here and Fragrantica, for good reason, as it punches well above its weight class. Its a "better" Tobacco Vanille for 1/4 the price, and its similar to Spicebomb for 1/2 the price.
