I think Spice & Wood works well in the summer (but even better in the fall).
EROLFA is probably my favorite “sea” scent.
While this may not be a popular opinion, Asian Green Tea is a fantastic fragrance - and exceptional in the summer.
Hi,
I've gotten addicted to this area and have six of their perfumes. I'd like to make it seven- but i'm trying to avoid doubling up on scents that smell quite similar to one another.
in order of my overall preference, from my current range- and when i like to wear them, i have the following.
bois du portugal (cooler weather)
aventus (anytime, maybe warmish weather moreso)
royal water (warmer)
GIT (anytime, to warmish)
himalaya (cooler)
MI (warmer)
i don't like royal oud and the other 'heavier' smelling scents (santal is passable, but i dont 'like' it)
SMW is ok, not a big fan of vetiver, or SMW. hate VIW (coconut)
viking is ok, but don't love it. same for tabarome.
these are all the ones i've managed to get samples of and/or try in my local shops. from here on, i'll likely be blind-buying. so your help will be greatly appreciated.
i'd like to get something 'summery' i think. fresh and vibrant smelling, but still interesting. royal water is quite nice in this area for me- but is there something better (and noticably different) i should consider?
i'm happy to go to their higher priced range(s), too.
thanks.

Current Summer Favorites:
1. Xerjoff - Nio
2. Tom Ford - Rive d’Ambre
3. Dior - Homme Cologne 2013
4. The Different Company - De Bachmakov
5. Armani - Code Sport Athlete
6. Montale - Aoud Legacy
7. Dior - Homme Sport 2008
8. by Kilian - Straight to Heaven
9. Ermenegildo Zegna - Sicilian Mandarin
10. Creed - Pure White Cologne
Consider something like Selection Verte for a nice summer scent. One of the best citrus and mint scents around.
The only other two that come to mind are Spice and Wood and Pure White Cologne.

Although not ideal for warm weather, if you can find samples consider one of the EDTs like Baie de Genievre, Orange Spice, Vetiver. Having a classic Creed would be nice.
EDT Citrus Bigarrade can work for warm weather.

I was able to smell many of the fragrances from Creed while at their boutique in Miami last year and the one that still sticks in my mind as really great was Spice and Wood. I would say it would be one of the first that I would buy from the house
Creed Royal Mayfair
Current Top Favorites
Azzaro Azzaro Pour Homme
Guerlain L’Instant De Guerlain Pour Homme EDP
Chanel Egoiste
Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche EDP
Guerlain Heritage EDT
Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT
Christian Dior Dior Homme EDT
Ralph Lauren Polo
thanks for the ideas and replies already everyone. i sampled (on a test strip) vetiver at my shop and found it 'ok' but not desirable. i didnt give it a chance to dry though. does the scent change noticabely after 5-10mins?
in my basket i currently have royal mayfair, pure white and jardin d'amalfi. they're my shortlist- currently.
is spice and wood similar to royal oud? i thought i read somewhere there were similarities. if so, it's a no for me. if not, then i'll add it to the list.
cheers again.
Layer 2/3 sublime Vanille and 1/3 spice and wood
Then private message me and say thank you

+1 for Spice and Wood
Original Vetiver is not really a "vetiver" scent - it is very light and fresh. Not a typical scent one associates with vetiver.
S&W is not really like Royal Oud. It is much fresher and lighter. I don't get very much in common between the two.
Royal Mayfair, PWC and Jardin d'Amalfi (masterpiece but maybe a little feminine leaning) are excellent choices.

Spice & Wood and Royal Oud not similar at all, to me.
The ingredients should bear that out.

Spice and Wood
Original Vetiver
I've ordered samples from creed australia of PWC, S&W and Jardin d'Amalfi.
I'm hoping they'll chuck in Royal Mayfair (as they claim they'll chuck in some bonus samples) but I'm assuming I'll end up with samples of the ones I already own/have sampled.
they should arrive tomorrow and from these, I'll make the final choice.
cheers again. it's good to see i was in the right ball-park with my initial selections.

Royal Mayfair
+(6?) for Spice and Wood
Cannot take more than one Creed (Aventus) really serious! To me it's mainly overpriced mediocrity...

I'm selective when it comes to Creed, only a few are worth purchasing, full bottles that is. But there's no doubt they make unique, light and amazing scents.
Try Erolfa
With the preliminary disclaimer to only consider this fragrance if (near to impossible, but still not 100% unlikely) still available at prices below costly Ebay rates and/or you can sample this one beforehand, also Creed Royal English Leather.
This very mature and highly classic near masterpiece, a few very traditional and very basic notes-mostly citrus/tangerine, possibly some not sweet rather unisex florals like lavender and leather-create an unlikely simple, straightforwards yet also timelessly elegant harmony.
Even without rather complicated cost and/or availability factors, this fragrance remains on the rather polarizing, love or hate side, as different from the current fragrance trends as it might be interesting and enjoyable as a lesson of perfume history and about fragrance traditions.
My next Creed likely will be Cedre Blanc, which translates to "White Cedar". And I have to say that it smells like they named it. It's very nice stuff. I think most Creed scents are fantastic though.
One of the vintage, vaulted scents of course. Perhaps Bois du Santal, Orange Spice, etc.

my samples arrived today. Creed were very generous. i paid for 3 (max you can choose) and i received 10.
luckily royal mayfair was one of the bonus 7the other 6 are largely ones i've sampled before, but a couple of new ones.
i'll test them through the day/evening and update here with my choice. thanks again everyone.

it was mostly to show that it wasn't a 'which bugatti should i buy on minimum wage' topic, where it's just to waste some time.
i've done my initial sniffs.
S&W- smells nice, but i don't think it's the scent i'm after. this gives me the 'warm' vibe that i get from royal oud/original santal. it's different to those, but that's the grouping i'd put it in.
PWC- is very nice and 'smooth'. feels like it would suit all occasions without offending anyone. my favourite at the moment.
Jardin d'Amalfi- is quite nice. very sweet, so i see where the 'female' biased opinions come from. doesn't seem very strong though. i need to get right up to my skin to notice it.
Royal Mayfair- this is fairly nice too. the initial spray reminds me of 'deep heat' (an anti-inflammatory/muscle relaxant cream in Aus- maybe overseas?) which isn't what i call 'exquisite' or desirable, but after those few minutes, i like it, but it doesn't wow me yet.
