    What a good idea!

I decided to use my Christmas giving this year to support American indie perfumers, even those I don't need a full bottle from. So I bought discovery sets for every appropriate person on my list, from Rogue Perfumery, January Scent Project, Imaginary Authors, Fazzolari, Zoologist (Canadian but it still counts), etc., etc.

The little hints of autumn in the air have me hitting the Sycomore EDT hard this week.

Many thanks to tdem, hazel, whitefluffy, jon for all of the milestone congrats

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of churches and cathedrals would be Creed Angelique Encens. The incense fused with angelica and ambery/vanilla notes reminds me of candles inside these holy places.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I have a funny image in my head of foxbins driving a car squish-packed with pet beds of all sizes and patterns.

Can I convince anyone that it's justifiable connecting peach schnapps to Cologne, Germany? Prob not. Although peach is not even a note in Aria di Capri, it's mostly what I smell, and herein lies my convoluted excuse for wearing this Carthusia this morn.
Tomorrow is a BN meet-up day, good for all the obvious reasons and it will get me away from the political news cycle, which will be a healthy thing.

Hello, belated congrats to N.Cal on 40K (!!!!) posts, foxbins, I adore the pet bed gift idea, and the first scent that comes to my mind for cathedrals/churches is CdG's Avignon, followed closely by their Kyoto.

Well, my true in-synch would be 4711, but in my head that's a warm weather fragrance, and it's *chilly* in Boston today!. So I'm nearly in-synch in Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin.

It's been completely crazy on my end, and I'm hoping to do a little catch-up reading on the thread over the weekend...
    Fabulous Friday to all!

Big congrats on the weight loss, Whitefluffy! You're a beauty at any weight and I bet you look absolutely stunning! Hope you have great fun rebuilding your wardrobe!

Ooh-ing and ahh-ing over Ombre Platine by Jean-Charles Brosseau this morning, a sample from our dear HOP. Reminding me quite a bit of an excellent old Guerlain fruity-floral- was it called Secret Intention? Will have to double check that. In any case, this is pretty! Happy Friday, all!

    Hello all,

I’m wearing Lady Vengeance by Juliet Has a Gun. I woke up this morning scented in the lovely dry down of L’Heure Bleue. I love it when that happens. I have a hair appointment this afternoon and will also stop off at Peet’s to replenish my stock of French Roast coffee beans.

    Have a good day.

Quarry, yes it was a little difficult to see out the rear window of the car with all the pet beds in the back seat. And the living room has taken on a fiesta feel with a turquoise and pink cat bed next to my yellow-painted walls.

I am wearing Pulp today and trying to stay warm. I've been poking the thermostat up because there seems to be a draft near my chair. MIght have to get the space heater out.

    Hello everyone!

I've been wearing Guilty Absolute again today. It's interesting how a perfume can grab you and make you want to wear it over anything else for a shorter or a longer while.
I'll have to think up an excuse how does it relate with Cologne, Germany for the synch.

I also went to the L'Occitane counter today to sniff Pierre Hermé - Pamplemousse-Rhubarbe and Pierre Hermé - Jasmin-Immortelle-Neroli that they brought back again. I haven't tried them before, and I was excited for the grapefruit one. I DID LIKE IT. It's light and sweet juicy grapefruit, almost edible. I did not buy it there and then, but I'm pretty sure I am able to find an excuse to get it for spring. I do have time. But there's also Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Ginger Piccante on my wishlist that I want more than this one... (Ginger Piccante is really beautiful and deliciously spicy candied ginger with some citruses and woods, I recommend to try it for anyone interested in the line) ...enough rambling!

Quarry, have a great time tomorrow! Best of luck to you and all the fellow meet-up participants - have fun!

foxbins, the pet beds are a really nice gift idea. I'm also imagining you among the huge colourful pile of pet beds! Are you keeping one for yourself?

Is L'Occitane collaborating with Pierre Herme the patissiere? I need to look into that.
