Default Bottega Veneta Pour Homme vs Hermes Bel Ami Vetiver

Hello i need Your help in my decision regarding these two fragrances : Bottega Veneta Pour Homme edt and Hermes Bel Ami Vetiver... Which would be better suited for a 30-40yo Man, which suits more formal occassions, business meetings etc..
Also which has an more "expensive" aura... Thanks in advance!

Well to me its BV Pour Homme, its a classy, a bit dark, leathery, piney fragrance which seems to combine modernity with maturity. If you want something modern with a bit of that mature vibe go with BV but at the end of the day, your own nose should be the final judge.

I am a fan of both but BelAmi performs better. If you decide to go with the BV, try wearing some of it on clothes. Concidentally, BV Pour Homme has similarities to Hermes Rocabar, which also performs a bit better.

Ok thanks... I already have Rocabar, so in your opinion it is similar to Bottega Veneta?

BV is more classic/conservative while Bel Ami Vetiver is more dandyish.

For formal occasions, definitely BV for me. The Hermes might be better once you clock off and do your thing after work. I would imagine a spray of BAV would work well over the drydown of BV; I would expect the leather notes to connect.

If having to recommend and also to choose one among the two, would go without hesitation for Bel Ami Vetiver

    Own and really like both.

Business meetings I would stick with Bottega.

Out on the town Bel Ami Vetiver.

Both are well suited for someone between the 30-40s age range. The Bottega leans transparent with a modern touch. The Bel Ami is a bit animalic, I didn't quite like on me that much. Decent frag but not full bottle worthy for me. Only downfall to the Bottega is its lack of performance but it is an overall better scent to me.

I haven't tried the Hermes, so I can't pick, but I will agree with the position that the Bottega Veneta has subpar longevity.
It’s tragic to think that heroic man’s great destiny is to become economic man, that men will be reduced to craven creatures who crawl across the globe competing for money, who spend their nights dreaming up new ways to swindle each other.

BV Pour Homme is like Rocabar without the benzoin note.
