Default Anyone ever had a dud bottle of Azzaro ?

I'm wondering if they sent me the real thing, or an imposter. I like it more than I did, but every morning it's still the Eau Sauvage I am reaching for instinctively....

we shouldn't have to "try" to like a scent , should we ? I'd like to get to the bottom of it, maybe I have a dud bottle ?

Ok....what I am mainly getting when i smell the cap and spray it is - a very sharp smell of hairspray. Is this normal ? Is it possible that removing the oakmoss from Azzaro has castrated it ? Maybe this is what's missing ? I'm not ready to give up yet. All I know is, at this rate, my Eau Sauvage will be gone by Christmas, and my Azzaro will last 20 years.

We may have dud levels of patience!! 😂😂😂
Yeah I get the same sometimes from the cap and sprayer, just took me some time to let it stew (macerate) and now a few months later its flipping gorgeous!
In fact I bought 300ml of it, it's that good!
Also try stepping away ( lol I know it's hard when you 'want to like' a fragrance! And you keep going back to see if you've got it all wrong etc) for a good period of time, say 1 month and when you come back to it it will surely reveal more of itself to you.
Plus agree the opening of the latest iteration is pretty harsh, but it does settle down to a lovely warm rounded and excellent fragrance!
    Stay with it brother!

Spray on clothes. It’s sharp. But it smooths out. The older vintage is smoother but the new has that sharpness

Posted in last thread, I’ve experienced a dud or poorly stored bottle was a refillable bottle had like a lighter soapy opening smelled way off discarded it. It’s definitely a possibility, sell it off and buy a new one very affordable nowadays.

Am I right in saying though that Azzaro is

    1) Meant to start out sharp.

    2) Meant to dry down sweet.

    ?

I mean, the start is very sharp, and with that hairspray thing, but say 3 hours later, dries down to a sweet, nice fragrance.

So far, have never used, received nor even tested a dud bottle of this one-neither as vintage nor even in its current version.

While it may be true that the current version might have a reduced performance and/or notes with less prominence, did still have the sensation that the "basic DNA" of this fragrance was still there and though muted, limited to a certain extent-still more than enough to both smell and to perform like a classic, timeless fragrance milestone with most of its stylishness, attractiveness, balance, aesthetics noticeably rendered, rather than just a dud or pale reflection of its former self.

The current version especially has sharp aniseseed that to some noses could be something a little unpleasant. It is the basic dna but the current one is sharper to my nose.

To answer the thread question, thankfully not yet.

Yep sorry - to answer ( lol my previous answer was pre-coffee ansdwer!!) - no dud - had 4 so far - 3 new , 2 refiilable ones.
I DID however sell on my first bottle of this (last year) without giving it enough of a chance to stew - I thought - wahhh? This doesn't smell like its upto much.

It should say refillable on the front of the box towards the bottom above EDT, and on the bottom of the bottle engraved in the glass. The black top is also solid black no silver strip on the top or bottom of cap like with older bottles of Azzaro Pour Homme.

thanks, I'll keep the faith. I did notice that spraying it on clothes etc helped, going away and coming back to it...thx again.

yes, waiting for that initial sharpness to go and giving it time to bloom.
