yes, i know exactly what you mean, i try the devin from gentleman's collection few years back and it is horrible specially the first 10-15 min. after that still has the devin dna but nothing like the smooth balsamic vintage.
i was surprise usually all other aramis reformulations are very good i even like the JHL from the gentleman's collection better than the vintage.

+1 on Aramis reformulations. I have Tuscany from the gentlemen's collection and it is really really good, though the leather-note has been softened a lot. The vtg one had that fresh cigar-tobacco kinda smell to it, if you know what I mean.

I went with RC Musk Oil+Paco Rabanne PH again earlier today. Damn it's good.

Back in the 90's my wife bought me some Nautica for one occasion and some Alexander Julian Colours for another. One day I decided that the Nautica was just not strong enough so I layered it with AJ. Colours. I didn't even know about layering until I came to BN. I recently acquired them to relive the memory of that combo. It is totally amazing! Aquatic and a floral haha who would have thought!

I would also like to mention that I had 2 inquiries on what I had on by my cologne buddies at work. They looked at me like I was crazy when I told them about layering lol
