    Default Rose and Pepper

I've always particularly enjoyed the type of roses that have a kind of herbal, peppery element to them. Today I'm wearing a combo of Declaration d'un Soir, which has a nice peppery rose to begin with, and Atelier Cologne Poivre Electrique. Really loving this combo, but there has to be something out there with the two already combined?

What are your favorite peppery rose frags? Thanks!

Also adding Opus 1870 by Penhaligon's, even if the rose note may be minimal in this one

Rose 31 does have a bit of that quality, so does La Fille de Berlin and the new release from Malle - Rose & Cuir.

Rose Poivree could be something you'd want to try, I haven't (yet).

Actually, you ought to try Paestum Rose if you can. That one has rose and pepper with incense, and good balance among each.

I'm sure there are many more.

P.S. I rate Declaration d'Un Soir quite highly (and it is, by itself, a good enough rose+pepper for me). I always thought Poivre Electrique had something missing (my preference was/is for Honour Man in that ballpark ...), so Poivre Electrique could be a very good layering frag.

It could be that your combo smells better than anything else out there.

I would recommend checking out YSL Ultime. I don't see pepper listed, but there is rose and I get a peppery vibe if I remember correctly.

Ha, that could very well be the case! I'll have to do some sampling to be sure. I agree that PE is missing something - I like the pepper and incense, but it feels a bit uneven. Great for layering though.

Thanks for all the suggestions, keep 'em coming! I have the Rose 31 perfumed body lotion, which is actually fairly strong. I haven't worn it in a while, so I'll give that a test. Rose Poivrée seems like an obvious choice. And I'll add the others to my "to-sample" list.

Tauer Perfume Incense Rose is a good one to try. Although no official pepper note listed it gets mentioned quite frequently.

    This.

    Also,

Thameen - Noorolain Taif : Smells like a slightly more feminine version of Creed Royal Oud to me.

Eau d'Italie Paestum Rose is the best example.
