I'm back posting after taking some time to be with my husband & family after the passing of my Step-father-in-law. He has been a part of my husband's life for many, many years. My emotions are still all over the place & I couldn't decide between Eau Duelle EDP & LPRN EDP so spritzed one on one side & the other one on the opposite side.

    Have a good day!

(((Cuddlecat))) i'm sorry for your pain. I hope you can feel fully centered soon.

I've gotten pretty lazy since the arrival of damp, gray autumn. Will head outside and trust that something will spur me to be actively productive. Bel Ami smells so good from yesterday, I will reapply.

ComDiva and I are planning a wee meet-up for weekend after next. Envy lucky me.

So sorry to read your sad news, CuddleCat. My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. Wishing all of you peace and sending lots of love.

caz, I may be wrong, but I'm thinking the FL boutique does free shipping (or at least, they used to). Not sure about tax. I do have a phone number for orders, just in case you (or anyone else) would like to have it: 407-560-2869. And yes, I believe this is our only remaining standalone boutique! How sad.

Quarry, things were just not up to the standards we had grown accustomed to. Previously, we had marveled at how orderly, pristine and clean it was. They never seemed to allow litter to hit the ground! This time, the park restrooms were pigsties and there seemed to be very little cleanup going on anywhere in the parks. One employee told me that they are frustrated too, and actually encouraged me to complain. Our room was very cute but maintenance has been neglected since our last stay. And we did encounter some rude staff, which had never happened before. The worst being a security guard at our resort who whipped through the place like a maniac, nearly causing us to hit him-and then got angry and aggressive at us! Much of this is, I suppose, just times a-changin'. We're getting old and set in our old ways. For the cost, we probably won't do it again.

Not to say it was all a bust, though! I'd pay the ticket price just to go to Guerlain, over and over again! The Soarin' ride at EPCOT was so good we did it twice. Old favorites are still awesome; Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Small World-still loved them! The staff and food at our resort restaurant, Boatwright's Inn had been previously outstanding and glad to say they still are. And as you correctly noted, a perfume lover couldn't possibly get bored! I make a beeline for Guerlain as soon as I'm in the park but there's so much more than that. I can still highly recommend EPCOT for a sniffing expedition. Just try not to have to use the restroom!

I didn't try the new Ylang, Q.; had a mental list of things planned when I went in. Bois Mysteriuex (meh), Le Frenchy (IMPRESSIVE!) and I wanted a good dousing of Tonka Imperiale to make up my mind once and for all (sigh, yes, I want it). Played with a trio of parfums, Mitsy, Vol de Nuit and Jicky. Also checked out Mitsouko's other concentrations for comparison; this was my first examination of them since Wasser's tweaks. Then, got distracted by the Rouge G lipsticks and cases (also want!). After this, I was looking and smelling completely tarted up so figured why not try one of the new AAs as well, lol. Added a spritz of Flora Cherrysia to the whole mess; very pretty to start but dried down sickly sweet and synthetic for me.

I bought the new Mitsouko EdT, my SotD. I've been on again/off again with Mitsy for years now but I think I may have finally found the right Mitsy for me. Wasser has it in fabulous shape, IMO. EdT is so bright and sparkly with tenderly executed peach skin; Mitsouko's gentle side. No overly sweet peach, no loud cloves, no rancid peanut oil! Overall, vastly improved. Found my Goldilocks Mitsouko, I think!

A bit more of the beach; we were at Indialantic, just past Melbourne. Not a busy beach but a quiet, peaceful one. For rest and meditation, I couldn't recommend a nicer spot! Nothing for miles in the direction of the first pic:
    2019-10-15_16-13-07_109.jpg

And in the other direction, you can see the closest hotel way off in the distance:
    2019-10-15_16-17-00_161.jpg
Could have gladly stayed here, for the rest of my life! Ryan, an in-law in Florida is highly recommended! And, you sound just like Mr. PL in regards to fishing!

Hazel, so glad the weather held out for most of your week! Your trip sounds wonderful!

Thanks for the nice comments on the boutique photos; I hoped you'd enjoy! Have a good day, all!

Thank you, very much my dear, PL! Love the ocean pic! Makes me want to go again someday, although I'll visit farther up the coastline, as I love the northeastern beaches - rocky or sandy.

I more or less "celebrated" my birthday yesterday, as my husband had the day off. I finished three pieces of art. One of which DH purchased immediately. I'm making myself a sirloin steak dinner later, complete with mass quantities of sautéed mushrooms, and green beans with Hollandaise sauce. After some sampling this morning, I've got some chores to do and maybe more drawing. I've got champagne for later, as well. A typical, quiet birthday for me.

Also, PL, it is sad that such a well-known park / resort, has been going "downhill". At least the Guerlain boutique was worth the trip, right?

Happiest of birthdays HoP!. Your celebration yesterday sounded wonderful. Pictures of the art?

CuddleCat I'm sorry for your and your family's loss. Healing thoughts and prayers sent.

PL I'm so surprised to hear about the deterioration at the park. My family worked for Disneyland for years and you're right, cleanliness and service were always top priority. In fact, it used to be that working for one of the Disney parks was a star on one's resume because the training and work ethic--the standards--were so high. Still, I'm glad to hear about the Guerlain boutique. Sounds delightful!! Now that I live closer to Florida I may need to plan a visit.

Today I'm in the wonderful Patchouli Leaves by Montale. From a sample. Considering a full bottle.

HouseOfPhlegethon, happy birthday! Have an amazing year full of new discoveries, artistic inspiration and great experiences!

PerfumedLady, I enjoyed your photos of the beach and your story about the trip - too bad many things were not as good as expected. At least the time at Guerlain store was nice. Happy you found your perfect Mitsouko!

I felt not too well today so I didn't go to do sports after work, and I'm just sitting and sipping hot tea with lots of lemon and honey after a hot shower, doused in Cuir by Molinard from a sample. I can already feel I'm getting better already.
