    Default Cuir Cannage appreciation thread

Loving Cuir Cannage. So glad I bought a full bottle before it disappears fully from the market.

I like it better than Leather Oud.

How about you? Does anyone actually like knize ten better than this?

Such a beautiful scent this CC is

I love it. I think it's the most underrated of the Dior La Collection Privee. So glad I bought my bottle a year ago.

I didn’t like cuir de Russia by Chanel (unwearable). Cuir cannage is beautiful and wearable. Class

I do like it a lot too. A very elegant floral leather that's as classic as it gets and works perfectly.

I myself prefer stronger leathers like Leather oud or, among florals, Knize Ten. Relative to Cuir de russie (which is also a smoother floral leather), vintage Cuir de Russie, with the birch tar bite, is on another level, the current ones are closer-probably I still prefer the Chanel, which feels a bit richer.

If I love cuir cannage will I like knize ten or ten golden?

Smelled knize 10 years ago and hated it...but my nose wasn’t as experienced then

Have it and love it. Cuir Mauresque is my favourite in this style, followed by Cuir Cannage.

Its one of those scents which has a cinematic quality meaning when you wear it you not only feel an air of sophistication but the fragrance itself has its own story and takes you to another time and space.

I thought Cuir Cannage was a good scent, a bit easier to wear than Leather Oud imo.

    Love Cuir Cannage!

I think I was one of, if not THE last person in Australia to get a full big bottle from Dior.

No regrets at all it was an instant love.

Vins comment above is spot on - 'cinematic' ,
Couldnt have said it better myself.

I own all of them -

    Cuir Cannage
    Knize Ten
    Cuir Mauresque
    Cuir De Russie

Cuir Mauresque is extremely similar to Knize - smell wise and performance wise. Hard to know which one should pick - I think Cuir Mauresque is better executed, but Knize isnt an expensive buy .... so dont know what to recommend out of those 2.

The best out of the above for me would definately be Cuir De Russie - it is everything I could ever want from a fragrance and more.

Is Cuir Cannage being removed from the line? It’s easily available in Europe and the Middle East the last time I checked.

On whether you'd like Knize Ten. Knize Ten feels stronger and has a certain gasoline vibe. So if you like Cuir Cannage, you won't necessarily like it.

Still, I think it's worth smelling again, in case, as you wondered, it was just a case of not being used to leathers.

What's your view on Cuir de Russie (EdT / EdP) and Knize 10?

I like those two a lot (the Chanel more), but they are all so fleeting on my skin, hardly any depth and no extended dry down. I prefer Knize Ten Golden Edition to these, and it also lasts adequately on my skin. It's the closest to Cuir Mauresque, so I have no need for it.

CdR and Knize 10 are a bit dry and austere on me. I prefer the roundness of Cuir Mauresque and Cuir Cannage.

Chanel Cuir de Russie in parfum still lasts very well. Of course-it's much more expensive that the already expensive edt/edp

I hope to try it sometime. I was curious about it, but another member mentioned that while it does last well, it's not going to scratch my itch if I'm looking for something with more body/diffusive sillage. Thankfully, Cuir Cannage and Cuir Mauresque satisfy.

Yes, CdR parfum does not have big sillage, it's rather quiet. But it does last a long time.
