Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

hello all,

Good morning!
Today I'm up much earlier because my cat decided to spill a full glass of water on my bedside and I had to get up and mop the floor. I decided not to go back to bed and it probably was a right decision. I'm feeling much better after a big cup of spice tea with milk and honey.
Thank you for the good wishes, HoP and teardrop - they helped!
Wearing LPRN Black Perfecto EDT today.
Morning all!
Glad you're feeling better, ClockworkAlice!
We're set to get a lot more heavy rain here today. l'll be in Uni, wearing Smuggler's Soul.![]()

Hello, all, and happy birthday HOPI HOPe (capitalization intended
) your day is absolutely fantastic and filled with fragrant, wonderful things.
Glad you're feeling better, ClockworkAlice! We have friends whose cat would decide when it was time for them to get up, and would start by sitting on one of the couple's chest, then move up to cover most of their face, and then, when shooed off, would move to the bedside table and proceed to "tap" increasingly large items off. Pen... then book... then alarm clock.
Today I'm in Masque Milano Kintsugi from a sample.
I like it, but at least so far it's not sufficiently unique for me to need more than the sample. Pretty, though, especially for the crisp-ish fall weather we're having now.
Here's to a tempting Thursday!
Kintsugi fragrance notes: Bergamot, Magnolia, Amber, Golden Suede, Centifolia Rose, Violet Leaf, Benzoin Siam, Raspberry Leaf, Patchouli, Vanilla.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson
Time to get serious about my sampling again and I'm in two scents already this morning. On one hand, Purple Flowers by Mancera and Zoologist's Panda on the other. Panda is designer-ish in style but it's also the first Zoologist to make me perk up and say "wow". I enjoyed Macaque quite a bit but Panda is even lovelier, I think. It may not shatter the earth but I'm impressed by such a refined take on the fresh, tea-like jasmine a la CKOne category. Really like!
Your comments on Disney make perfect sense to me, Hazel; we'd always seen impeccable service. I always thought a hospitality job with them must be an enormous badge of honor. The in-depth training was visible and undeniable during previous visits. And to be fair, I never understood how they kept the place so utterly perfect in the first place! For those of you who worked there before recent issues, I think it is still a fine feather in your cap. And yes, do make time to go on a smelling spree! Directly across the walkway from Guerlain is a shop with several French houses; Dior, Chanel, Givenchy, etc. And that's just the France pavilion! More to smell in Italy, Norway, England and others. It's paradise!
Loooved the Jickys, Larimar! I enjoyed the radiance of EdT and the depth and luxurious lavender of the parfum. Yes, the civet is not the same but they seem to be taking their lavender very seriously these days. I'd like my bed linens to be saturated in that extrait! VdN didn't do so much for me. Nice, but not nicer than my recent-ish EdT, I thought. For this, I'd probably go vintage parfum for something more different from my EdT. Mitsouko parfum was best of all to me; dark but glowing, and I actually like Wasser's fractionated oakmoss! Things are not what they used to be but at least at Guerlain, the classics are recognizable, and seem to be treated with as much loving care as currently allowed.
Have a great day, everyone!

Dior-Dior, my second day in a just-acquired 1978 bottle of EDT that was sealed but had evaported down to an extrait version of its glorious self. So rich and so full of that overripe Roudnitska fruit that its beauty almost brings tears to my eyes. Definitely my favorite acquisition of the past couple of years, evaporation and all.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes: Larimar, Hazel5, cuddlecat, cazaubon, N.Cal, kewart, inees, and ComDiva. - the ones I missed thanking, yesterday. Overall, it was a pleasant day. I'll eventually post my new art in my album. Just takes, getting set up and dealing with the odd page of loading them - it seems wonky, at times.
Wearing Vetiverus by Oliver & Co. this morning.
Have a great day, y'all!

HoP, I wish you the happiest day-after-your-birthday ever! More cake, I insist.
Cats!What can you do?
Larimar and ComDiva -- now that's a fantasy meet-up.
I'm taking Jicky's lavender's advice and relaxing into Thursday.
PL, I shared you WDW review with DD. She's not surprised to hear such downtrending observations. At this very moment, she's in the air on her way to Orlando for maybe the 5th(?) time this year.
I don't want to. I don't have to. You can't make me. I'M RETIRED.
Glad to hear you are feeling better Clockwork! Another hot dry day here in San Diego, so I’m going to fight fire with fire in Songe d’un Bois d’Eté.
Good afternoon all !. L'Artisan Parfumeur - Tea For Two (with no spillages).

Thanks for the info, PerfumedLady! Much appreciated. They changed Vol de Nuit extrait to something polite and unspectacular a few years ago. I am excited to hear about the Jickys. I have so much of the extrait hoarded that I should actually start spraying my bed sheets .
It was back to Coup de Fouet today.
Best to all
Good morning all! HOP--Happy belated birthday and many happy returns!
Cuddlecat, my condolences on your family's loss. The empty spaces can be hard to fill and it never happens quickly. Best thoughts going out to your husband.
PerfumedLady Wow. Thanks for posting your beach pictures--very soothing. Except for the part about how now I want to go to the ocean and how perfume is great and all that, but I'm with you on the Rouge G lust. Definitely distracting.
I'm happy today in Montale's Intense Cherry.
