Question The BEST Niche (top of the line) HORSE fragrance house for Men?

Hello, this is a weird question but I always pick my parfums based on looks and design. Basically I like horses a lot it's my favorite animal. And that's what I want to try samples (and buy a full bottle) of Herod, or Carlisle, Pegasus, Layton Exclusif because Parfums de Marly obviously has a horse theme and Herod is ranked on place 13 or 12 on the top 100 parfumo frags (Germany). Type in "parfumo top" and then click the link for "Herren / Damen" for men or women.

I've also stumbled upon Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men VIP which is even higher rated than Herod and although Giorgio is just an Eau de Toilette it has much higher sillage and longevity rating. Why though? But Giorgio VIP Special Reserve is discontinued anyway so I can't buy it. Will they relaunch it maybe???

So yeah I'm stuck with Parfums de Marly Herod which is what I'm going to try next. Is Parfums de Marly the BEST niche house fragrance that uses the horse theme design? Giorgio also has two horses on their logo but the best they can do is VIP special reserve and as I said it's discontinued.

So parfums de marly is the king fragrance house that has adopted a horse themed design. Am I correct? Or is there something else?

So far I've only tried almost all Amouage Women and for Man i tried Interlude Memoir Myths Reflection Epic Jubilation and the best ones imo were Memoir and Myths Man. Do you think I will like Herod better? Is Herod the best from PdM? Whatever I'll buy a sample anyway of all I mentioned.

I know this text is not very orderly but try to answer my questions with the flow. thank you!

Surely, Giorgio Beverly Hills VIP Special Reserve has to be a better frag than PdM Herod as its rating is higher on parfumo for everything. But it's discontinued so I'll have to make Herod my signature parfum which is awesome too! Anyone tried both? Which is better smelling Herod or Giorgio Beverly Hills VIP Special Reserve?

PdM are low quality, overhyped, overpriced and boring fragrances. Herod is just meh. Quality wise it's on par with 30 EUR fragrances.

Just get Polo by Ralph Lauren. Obviously, it's not niche though.

cant comment on the horse themed design as i dont really pay attention to logos and all that, but PdM is one that should be quite easy to find samples of. Having sampled most of them, some are quite pleasant and some arent worth a darn. They arent really all that creative or unique imo, but that doesnt mean some of them arent good. The ones i liked are Herod, Godolphin, Oajan (my favorite), Habdan, and Nisean.

Pierre Cardin makes a line of men's frags with horse head caps. I wanna say it starts with a C. I tried one a while back, and it smelled kind of dated, but still, not as bad as others from that time. I think they might be discontinued too, or if they are still being made, it's in very low quantities.

Off the top of my head PDM is likely your best bet. They have a lot of great fragrances well worth their RRP, but I’ll suggest one I actually dislike because I get the impression you might like to smell like a horse too? If so, get Hamdani and you’ll smell like a horses stable

I have tried both. They're not much alike to my nose. I like both. Herod is sweeter.

Giorgio VIP is fine. Regular Giorgio for Men is better, I think, and it's not especially close.

By limiting yourself to niche, you're missing the most famous house of all that built itself around an entirely equestrian theme: Hermès.

I hadn't noticed that Mazzolari has horses in its logo, and I concur with Scarce, this would be an excellent brand. Lui is properly macho and animalic. Uomo is a traditional fougere. And others are worthy. There is apparently also an Aventus clone, though I cannot comment on it.

Also seconding Le Galop d'Hermes, a smooth, sweet leather.

    I appreciate the bottle, too.
Weirdly, I can't smell Galop. Anyone care to venture a guess how I could be anosmic to a whole collection of notes en masse?

If you’re building an eccentric ‘horse-themed’ collection, don’t forget to add this:

Not quite niche but holds its own.

Well, it's a very minimalist scent, with only 4 listed notes, all of which you've undoubtedly smelled before (except maybe the quince), so it's gotta be something about the inert ingredients, don't you think?

That's only happened to me once before, total anosmia. It was the most popular scent in the 4160Tuesdays pass, Doe In The Snow. Could not smell ANYthing in the bottle or on skin. Kinda feels like someone is gaslighting you when it happens.

Vintage Guerlain with the Marly horse logo.

There’s also Vintage polo, which prominently features a horse on the bottle.

Hermès uses a horse and carriage logo on the older stuff. Also- you need a bottle of Equipage. Because Equipage.

Not “niche”, but these vintage fragrances smell incredibly niche compared to mainstream frags today.

Apart from the many great suggestions already mentioned, have also personally detected a marginal "horse" note in Luxor Oud by Memo Paris.

Perhaps to an even more distant extent, in Habit Rouge and Derby (these two both by Guerlain, though not from the niche/exclusive lines by this house) and not just because of the naming alone.
Far more thanks to the idea of an aristocratic, quite dandified fashionable cavalier/horseman rendered in two distinct fragrances with a quite unique balance between classic, even traditional masculinity and a more adventurous note of equally luxurious old school equestrian associations/evocations, with a slightly darker, edgier twist on the latter.

You're making me feel better, C. Today I noticed two Fragrantica reviewers mentioned anosmic tendencies with Galop, too. No thought of gaslighting occurred to me since I always default to the inferiority supposition of "it's not you, it's me."

Interesting about anosmia and Galop. Luckily, I smell it. Who knows, could be any ingredient, perhaps the musks used.

I wanted to add some pics of the brand i was referring to earlier for the OP to see. He can have a whole collection of horses with these! It's not niche, but it might as well be, since it's so rare. Even if you don't go with these (personally I wouldn't since they are little known, and probably smell dated) - they're still cool to look at.

    That's pretty damn horsey!

OP, are you familiar with Horseball Extreme Horseball...by Horseball?

Not niche, but quite equestrian in theme if I do say so myself.
