My sympathies to the Californian Basenoters-- Trilby, N. Cal, Acey, among others. So much destruction is hard to bear.

It's just after midnight here but since I just put on a bit of Salt Caramel to continue painting my bedroom, I'll post it here.

This is the bedroom I had the paint for months ago. It was too dark. Now, I've mixed it up with a gallon of white base and some left over odds and ends to make five gallons of the color I was actually after. Lot-o-paint...

These Californian fires sound really bad. I hope they can stop already.
It's getting chilly again, but no snow yet - though the grass in forest area is all white because of cold.
No way! I just looked through the bus window again and it IS snowing!

Thanks Shycat. Regrettably a substantial amount California where I'm at have been without power. We had some heavy winds this past Sunday which only helped the current wildfires grow. The winds blew a lot of the smoke through much of the San Francisco Bay Area. Air quality hasn't been the best as of late. Been coughing the last few days from breathing in the air, hopefully these weather conditions will soon past. No rain in sight yet.

I’m wearing Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles today. I had some unlabeled juice in a travel vial and finally figured out what it is. The telltale dark color was my first clue, along with the very potent aroma.

Thank you for well wishes for California. It’s so hard to process what’s happening.

Yes it's terrible to see California burning. Home to so many people. Each year a little warmer, a little dryer. Hopefully there is a will and a way to manage these.

Best wishes to California from me, as well. Besides the fires, air quality has been on my mind, as N.Cal mentioned. I was in CO the last time this happened; could see the smoke hanging in the air that had blown in from three states away and felt poorly the whole time I was there. Can only imagine how it must feel to be surrounded by that smoke. These fires and the problems that come with them are absolutely terrifying. Hoping for everyone to stay safe and healthy.

And wish I could send our cold rain to the firefighters! Is your babe still in Orlando, Quarry? I sure miss their weather, kind of regret coming home!

If I'd known Shycat does late-night painting, I'd have tried to bribe her to do my dining room (a couple of Rouge Gs, plus meals & drinks, maybe?). Like a little home improvement fairy, you are!

In Tauer's Kandahar today, from one of several samples of it I've somehow accumulated. I'll say this, there are far worse things in life than having too many samples of any Tauer rose! Have a good day, all! And teardrop, thank you, much better today!

Oh I need to paint my bedroom. I'm contemplating the shade I want. Right now a grey-blue color is in the lead. Going for serenity. I considered yellow but it's too activating. What did you chose? Pictures?

Sincere good wishes for our Californians. However, we can't keep building homes where fire or flooding recur without accepting the consequences.

Our kiddo is back from Orlando, PL. She usually stays for just two days and one night and gets on a WDW game show. I'll spare everyone the full videos, but share the faces she makes when asked a question she's doesn't think she knows the answer to, then guesses at, and finally freaks out when the answer's correct.
