Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Hello and happy Friday!
I'm traveling by bus to another town to visit my parents. We'll probably go to visit my father's sister, my aunt and godmother tomorrow. She lives in the countryside across the country (Lithuania is really not that big, you can drive through it all in 3-4-5 hours). She had quite a rough couple of years, and to top it all, she broke her leg not so long ago. So we'll be helping her with the yardwork, tending the leaves, fixing the fence and so on.
Synching with Le baiser du Dragon by Cartier - love it.
Hi, all!
In sync with Amouage Opus VII. I love the perfumer syncs because it makes me discover stuff.
The first few minutes of this, something - I thing the fenugreek or the oud - is a bit off-putting on my skin, but then it gets wonderful. Weird and sophisticated.
Fantastic Friday, everyone!
Opus VII fragrance notes: Galbanum, Pink pepper, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Fenugreek, Oud smoke, Patchouli, Ambrox, Leather, Ambergris, Costus root, Muscone, Sandalwood, Olibanum, Cypriol.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson
CwAlice, I thought you'd be in your beloved Gucci Guilty Absolute for the sync.Alberto is one of your go-to perfumers it seems.
I'm impressed by AM's body of work, but none of his frags has moved me. Funny how that goes.
HoP, are you out there? I see that the storms moving through Pennsylvania last night left tens of thousands without power.
I'm riding Feminite du Bois into a second day.
I don't want to. I don't have to. You can't make me. I'M RETIRED.

Good morning everyoneFor the synch I had a few choices but ended up with Omnia. I have a rather old mini that I should focus on finishing. It's also the most workfriendly choice

I'm good. The t-storms pretty much missed my borough. Wind and rain, yes but, not as bad as predicted. More damage south and east of us with those storms. DH had to take a train south through all of that nastiness. I'm sure he probably hit a tree or two on the way. He Should be home anytime.
Wearing Le Baiser du Dragon by Cartier for now.
Yesterday morning sitting out back on the patio, the clouds were moving due north. Today, they are all moving due south. Funky weather....

Happy Friday, all!
HoP I'm glad you missed the power outages!
It's a cold sunny morning here. The pasture is beautiful, covered in frost crystals. It almost looks like snow.
I have nothing by Alberto Morillas except a few samples. I was able to find Lemon In Zest, which is really more of a warm weather fragrance. I'll wear it for a few hours (heading to the gym--it works) and later will switch to something warm and cozy. Perhaps Cadjméré 18 or Ummagumma.
Have a great Friday, all.

Happy Friday! Joining CuddleCat in No. 5 EP today. Dug out my big, nearly full, old style bottle; going to wear the "vintage" version for awhile.
CC, Raw Silk & Red Roses is actually a component of Killer Rose, so no doubt you'd like KR! I guarantee, you'll recognize that aspect right away. Not redundant, though, I don't think. I can see the differences as being something like, in mainstream terms, Chanel and Guerlain have done with their Intense versions of Coco Mademoiselle and Mon Guerlain. Just different aspects are played up, and on rather different bases. I love that 80s style musky base of Raw Silk but also love the cozier, more sensual treatment of the rich rose accord in Killer Rose. And KR is a bit more modern in feel to me, where RS&RR says "Big 80s". Even if you didn't find it necessary to own both, I think you'd definitely find it a fun sample!
Glad you're safe & sound, HOP! Wild night! Winds finally got high enough here, to postpone trick or treating. And officially, lots of rain, but I went out for the mail and rain doesn't lilt to the ground like that. That's called snow.Overall, a yucky, wet, cold night!
No baiting/trolling. No insults. No politics. Read the Code of Conduct.
Hello and best to everyone. I don't have anything by Albert Morillas, so I'm sitting this week out in Yves St Laurent Libre:
Notes include lavender, orange blossom, mandarin, neroli, jasmine, amber, vanilla, musk
Lovely and sweet, with a judicious addition of bracing citrus to keep it from going flabby. It's just delicious. Wish you all a great Friday and weekend.
"I felt something so intense, I could only express it in a perfume." - Jacques Guerlain
Wow, I had no idea Alberto Morillas had created so many lovely perfumes
until I just looked him up!
I seem to own and love quite a few of his : Omnia, Omnia Green Jade,
Flower by Kenzo, Acqua di Gioa, Hot Couture, Estee Lauder Pleasures,
Acqua di Gioa and Caudalie Eau des Vignes to name a few.
I think, however, I will go with an old favourite - Le Baiser du Dragon.
A woman without perfume is like a flower without a scent.

Hello all,
I’m wearing Mugler Cuir Impertinent on this blustery day. Today begins our annual weekend cookout/camp out at the beach. I’m bringing brownies and whiskey to tonight’s potluck.
Have a good day.
Note to self: Choose being kind over being right, and you’ll be right every time.
Hehe, it's funny how my ravings about GGA didn't go unnoticed!I actually had a hard decision between the two, but went with the Dragon because of the chilly weather in the end. Morillas has quite a lot of scents that I enjoy, yes, (for example, Kenzo Flower, Salvador Dali...) but also has several I'm okay with, but not crazy about (for example, CK One or Daisy) and one I absolutely despise (Wood pour femme). I guess when he's created that much that's inevitable. But I'm sure I should try more of his scents - I might just find another gem for me.
HoP, glad to hear you're safe. Hope your husband comes back safely soon without train hitting the trees, too!

DH didn't hit any fallen trees last night, for a change. I guess they make one hell of a noise, when he does.
Chilly out today.
Thanks all, for the concern, BTW!![]()
