    Perhaps Lavande by Fargonard.

Luckily I don't find it soapy (in the sense of aldehydes or white musks), but i agree that Caron Pour un homme is a simple, clean, classic lavender.

I think Caron pour Un Homme is very good, but I do not find it soapy. Definitely worth a try.

Azzaro PH pethaps - does the lavender & soapy vibe well - though has a herbal tinge
    Lalique PH somehwat

For straight up lavender and soap - Agree something like Fragonard, or Yardley English Lavander might scratch your itch
Just lavendar = +1 on the Caron

Caesar World Man, Drakkar Noir, Lomani, Sung Homme, but not the Caron, as the vanilla takes it in a different direction, more musty/herbal, at least in my 1960s bottle.

Can’t believe I didn’t suggest Azzaro a while ago. Plenty of lavender in this.

I guess to a lesser extent Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is another but it comes across fresher and the lavender is not so obvious.

Try Houbigant Duc de Vervins as well.

Vintage Drakkar Noir (cosmair) is to me heavily a lavender fragrance with detergent and oakmoss. Oldschool.

Taxi is a super cheapo that is in the same range as DN, Lomani, etc. A 100 ml bottle cost me around $3, so that might be a place to start. If you don't like it the others aren't likely to be what you are seeking.

Right right. Yes, Caron pour un homme doesn’t have a soapy vibe. I can’t think of an exact lavender soap fragrance atm, but Eau de L’occitan is definitely worth trying.

There is some wonderful triple milled lavender soaps that would be great for layering with a traditional lavender fragrance as well.

This is a good one. And this reminds me that The Art of Shaving's "Green Lavender" is a clean lavender scent that has a tinge of crispness to it. Very nice also.
