Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Kewart, your lunch sounds amazing. No wonder it's your son's favourite. Have a great time together!

Yesterday we tidied all the yard - there was 5 hours of work (okay, including lunch break and a small beer break) for 4 people, but we did it all - the leaves, the branches, the last mowing of the grass before winter, everything. My muscles are lightly sore today, and that's a good thing. Yardwork is better than a workout for sure. Quarry, it would have been great to have a working teammate like you, but I hope you can learn to enjoy restful days, too!

I'm wearing Frescaessenza from my travel bottle again, and I'm on my way home. I missed my cat.

Good morning all !. Back in the loop after being without an internet connection for around 14 hours. The weather didn't seem particularly severe but chaos ensued anyway and it also played havoc with many Bonfire Night firework displays that had to be cancelled. Normal service is now resumed

    Morning all!

kewart, that's my kind of Sunday lunch!

ClockworkAlice, that sounds like an enjoyable & productive day! l've yet to put my garden to bed for the winter, because whenever l have time it's pouring with rain. Well done to you.

Today l'm going to spend a couple of hours studying, before the Rangers game kicks off & breaks my concentration. l'm doing a bit of "scoping": reading some relevant articles to help me decide on a topic for my dissertation. Once that's settled, l'll feel better about the whole thing, but l think this is the most challenging part.

Giving a second wearing to my sample of Castana today.

Greetings from onboard the southbound Hiawatha. I'm wearing Replica Across Sands just on my knuckles, so it'll be gone later when I'm sampling.

Across Sands is normally my bedtime scent. Dark dates sweetness married with dirty oud; one time I got the impression of rubber, as in Bulgari Black. Of all the bedtime scents I've gravitated to over the years -- Boucheron, Yves Rocher Iris Noir, Natori -- I think I've used Across Sands the longest now. Its nearest smell-alike to me is Hermes Ambre Narguile, but minus the apple pie impression. Amusingly, Luca Turin gives Across Sands one star. Ha-ha.

Sycomore edp, which I over sprayed, for me this morning. I forgot it was the edp, not the edt I used to own.

How do you like the EdP? Personally, I like it much more than the EdT. It feels more stitched up and I really enjoy the sandalwood...feels much more Chanel than the EdT.

I was supposed to be with ComDiva right now, warm brunch in our tummies and surrounded by Nordstrom wares. Instead, I've spent most of the morning on a train siding, and Amtrak can't say why. Originally we were waylaid by northbound passenger and freight trains. This second stoppage has produced no hopeful announcements as to why or when we should get resolution. Our train should have gotten in almost 2 hours ago -- and this is only a 90-minute commute! As soon as we do arrive, I'll just take the next train home as there'll be no time to do anything. So bummed. Thanks for tolerating my rant. At least there's wifi on this route.

Now they say we're going to sit another half hour, making us over 3 hours late. No beverage or food service on this route means passengers are not getting any cheerier.

A warranted and completely understandable rant, Quarry! I'm so sorry to read this! Your excitement for this meetup has been apparent and I'm sad that your hopes were dashed. And selfishly, I was looking forward to pics of your beautiful selves enjoying the day! I hope the ride home will at least be scenic and fun, or enlivened by something fabulous to read/watch/entertain!

Cold, but finally some sunshine today and I'm glad. Keeping warm in Mon Guerlain Intense. Now that I've had time to really explore this, I see why it hooked me so immediately. Just stunning and rich lavender, florals and vanilla, so very Guerlain. Happy Sunday, all!

It's so hard to stay in love with a transportation service that doesn't love you back.

That’s terrible, Quarry. Building new, modern passenger train service would truly make America great again. I recently took the train from Montreal to Quebec City and it was a great experience. There was extremely limited food service on board but the train station was loaded with amazing food stalls for takeout.
Note to self: Choose being kind over being right, and you’ll be right every time.
