Hi, everyone (and still waving furiously to Quarry, just from Boston now)...

Glad to see the righteous indignation on behalf of our Dear Ms. Q - Amtrak certainly owes her big time! I’ll just have to find another opportunity to go to Chicago soon. Though with winter coming (GoT reference intentional), it may be awhile. Somehow Boston doesn’t seem quite as brutally cold.

Anyhow, SoTD for me is sheer comfort in L’Artisan Tea for Two.

Wishing you all a mellow Monday!

Tea for Two fragrance notes: Bergamot, star anise, tea, cinnamon, ginger, spices, gingerbread, honey, vanilla, leather and tobacco.

Hello, luvs. I came home stinky as planned.
I tried Replica Coffee Break. As I had read, where it starts is not where it ends. A coffee note is nowhere in its progression, but it does dry down to an okay snuggly base. Meh.
I was surprised to see Bond No. 9 in one of those kiosk counters where you find formerly famous frags no longer sold in department stores. Makes it look like Bond's glory days are truly behind them.
I smelled Herbae at l'Occitane. I love green, but this was screaming green. Maybe on skin it would calm down, but I was not tempted to apply.
Came home to a decant in the mail of Prada Iris Cedre, which puts a nice spin on what felt like a do-over day.
    I don't want to. I don't have to. You can't make me. I'M RETIRED.

Quarry... Absolutely ludicrous how your adventure turned out. Very disappointed for you. I Think CP Rail may own that "piece of track" you were stuck on, if I read my railroad map correctly. They, are just as inept as Norfolk Southern. I certainly hope, if you travel by rail again, it works out better for you.

Q and Comdiva--such stress. You know what it means, though...you'll have to make it up to yourselves with some intense indulgence at a later date.

I'm in Hypnotic Poison today...still painting my bedroom. I can't do much at a time for my arms getting tired, but I'm almost done. I have new drapery hardware to hang black black out drapes.

My bedroom will be a close match for my personal page here on Basenotes--I didn't realize what I was doing until I had the drapes laid out against a warm blue wall.

Monumental name and beautiful bottle and label. High aesthetics altogether!

Hi Trilby!! I'm liking Galop alot, but I had to learn to spray enough to get "French" levels of sillage. Minimum of 5 sprays for me, which means those around me are catching whiffs, too. But at that level it's quite beautiful. The rose and leather are obvious and continuous, and are nuanced with sweet, sour, spicy, smoky and waxy aspects. If I only spray a bit, it all gets submerged in a kind of olfactory fatigue.

Definitely unisex, but could be called Femmerose if Etro was offering it!

My wife likes the Twilly Poivree flanker, but still likes the original more. She thinks Eau Poivree is more feminine, and that I should stick to Twilly if borrowing, but I really like what Nagel did with the rose-pepper-patchouli combination in Eau Poivree.

My wife is off Gabrielle now, and is totally hooked on Jour d'Hermès, which bottle she ignored forever!

I put a review of Galop up on my blog. Hoping others will discover the rosy wonder by going with stronger applications!

I like Galop as well. Very interesting take on rose leather. I need another blog option besides the floundering Tumblr!

I did Blogger, years ago, but ended up settling on WordPress, and I highly recommend it! WordPress would also offer you a good way to doubly archive your reviews, first online, then as a site zip file.
