    Default Travel Atomiser Advice

    Hey,

Iím hoping for some advice on the purchase of a travel atomiser, Iíve tried the £5-6 ones from eBay but always find that they are prone to leaking so ideally want something that a little better constructed.

    What would people recommend?

Can't tell from your post above, but have you looked into the Travalo? That might work for you. They can be gotten online.

The 2-mL plastic snap atomizers are good for a trip, and don't leak, but do slowly evaporate. You have to use them up in a year or two, maybe 3.

Metal-and-glass jobs are a crapshoot. I've had some last 10 years with only 10% evaporation, but others go dry in a year. Each one needs individual testing, IMO.

second that evaporation is a serious issue with all sorts of decants especially plastic. always store them upright! best to go glass though and use teflon tape to seal the screw cap.

the entire travalo line-up leak over time as well.

l've had a Travalo evaporate completely in just a month or two, even though it was stored upright.

l think with most atomisers it's best to decant just a small amount at a time, & use it up quickly.

Thanks, I’ll give the Travalo ones a try as they look a little higher quality than the ones I’ve had previously. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Accessories For Fragrances is a good place to get travel decants.

Be sure to use PTFE tape around the threading of the neck the atomizer and parafilm around the sprayer when not in use. That will minimize the evaporation.

Glass decants are preferable over plastic ones.

This! I use the Travelos for many of my day to day scents and for travel (I commute to work mostly by bicycle and shower/change at the office) since I don't always want to be bringing full bottles of stuff, especially the 100mls! It's a good way to use stuff up quickly.

Hot tip (and may go without saying) - buy one for each scent you want to use since they are impossible to clean. I've accidentally layered fragrances by forgetting which colour was which scent. They're all labelled now!
