Default Sycomore EdT or EdP ?? group preference

Have sampled Sycomore received a nice sample from Chanel boutique at the mall. Not sure if it was the EdT or EdP was ready to place an order with Chanel on line but their website only offers EdP.. The directory has only 9 reviews of perfume but over 100 of the Toilette

    1. Wondering what your preference between the two might be? projection? Longevity?
    2. Noticeable difference ?

Looking forward to your comments, will hold off on placing the order....... for a bit!

To me the noticable difference is the EDP feels a bit more Chanel than the EDT. By that I mean the EDP has a nice creamy sandalwood note and is not as smoky as the EDT...the vetiver is less pronounced. Actually, I'm surprised to say I enjoy the EDP quite a bit more.

Edt is much better with that smoky Vetiver. Edp is more chanel’ized and also smells good. Both are excellent overall but edt is a masterpiece . Proud to own both.

    The original release for me.

EdT for me as well. the Edp is smoother and creamier, while the edt is drier and smokier. I like my vetivers dry and sharp, hence the edt. If you prefer smoother vetiver, you should prefer the edp though.

But that's in relative terms. They're not miles apart, I still like the edp a lot and it still smells like a vetiver, fresh.

The edt's were discontinued a few years back and reformulated into the new edps. If you got your sample this year, it's going to be the edp. Since the edt no longer exists, if you like it, I'd say go ahead an buy the edp.

Having similar feelings as OP reason I’ve been putting off a purchase of a full bottle of Sycamore EDP. I’ve never smelled either so what I don’t know won’t hurt me, but I would like it in a quality form as intended so still on the fence whether to purchase or not.

EDP is like you are inside looking out at a forest behind a thick sheet of frosted glass. EDT puts you in the forest.

I actually haven’t tried the EDP, but I love the vintage EDT.

I own the EdT, and it’s great on a chilly autumn day. The sharp, dry vetiver goes well with the scent of fallen leaves.

Have to say, too: BN reports regarding the Chanel-ized EdP have me intrigued. Likely to end up in my collection soon.

EDT though the perfume is nice when you slightly overspray.

    Very well put!

I also get much less of that lovely campfire smoke in the EDP. Which would make sense, if I were seeing it from behind a sheet of glass.

My preference is the original EDT release.

I've only a decant of the edp and have never fallen in love. It's not something I would replace, or even consider a bottle of. I find it merely 'nice', which is sad considering how much praise the original edt received.

I'll be of no help. The first time I tried Sycomore it was the EDT. I liked it. Didn't fall in love with it though. Now, I have a mini of the EDP, which I find more attractive. I enjoy the vetiver more, in the latter formula.

Prefer the original EDT by a mile. If I’m hankering after creamy sandalwood undertones there’s always Bois des Iles or Egoiste.

I have mini's of both versions. I'm not a huge fan of either. The edt is discontinued, rare, and expensive, making it a less attractive option to my way of thinking. For vetiver, you could try Elie Saab Essences Vetiver or Lubin Itasca.
