Default The House that you wore this week

I usually choose the scent that I am going to wear at random each morning, with no kind of particular routine. I recently acquired my third Creed Fragrance and figured why not wear Creed for the whole week and give a summary of how it went. Below is a summary of wearing Creed for the whole week and next week I think I am going to do Chanel, so each day I’ll wear a different Chanel fragrance.

So this past week I had a rotation of Aventus (16H11), Green Irish Tweed (13T01), and Royal Oud (16L01).

Wore Aventus the first two days of the week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only 2-3 sprays and lasted me all day. I thought this was mostly a warm weather scent but it did quite well in the cool.

Green Irish Tweed in the middle of the week. This is by far my favorite office scent and this last about 2 hours longer than my Aventus.

And I finished my week with Royal Oud. This had by far the best projection and longevity out of the other two mentioned. Plus it’s my wife favorite out of my entire collection so that makes me like it that much more.

If you feel like sticking to a single house for a week-
What house do y’all plan on wearing? Come back and give updates or a summary at the end of the week and let us know how it went.

I could easily do that and wear a different one from a house each day, but I think after the third day I'd probably get bored, unless I am traveling out of the country.

You should try it with a house, and then if you get bored of that house, feel free to donate the bottles from that house to me. I will kindly take them.

I think the only houses I'd want to try this with are Dior or Malle because those are the houses from which I have the most variety.

I wore mostly Al Haramain. I wore a couple of their attars (Sheik and Mukhallath Al Sultan), along with new acquisitions Imperial Oud and Oudh 36 Elixir which I'm wearing again today. Not sure what I wore the other few days, but it's not typical for me to wear this many in a week from one house.

Wore a lot of Roja Dove this week; Oceania, London, Enigma, Oligarch and Midsummer Dream.

Might do a week of Byredo; Black Saffron, Unnamed, Super Cedar, Baudelaire and looking at purchasing Sellier (notes sound great).

That sounds pretty interesting. But I know what you mean, I love having the ability to switch up my scents each and everyday. But I have several Rasasi that I have up on the line up.

During the Summers - or that is to say, during the hottest weeks - most of my collection becomes less than usable. At that point I do tend to lean towards repeat wearings from the same houses. Mostly out of laziness and a lack of inspiration. When that happens my two houses I turn to are Creed (for Vetiver Geranium and Original Vetiver) and Tom Ford (for one of his neroli concoctions). I also experimented quite a bit on some weeks with Byredo. And if I recall there was a hot stretch of a couple of weeks where I was enjoying the house of Acca Kappa (I find that their white musk and cedar scents are so easy to wear with their non-cloying, soft projection during the Summer).

But outside of Summer it tends to be completely random, mood-based selections for me.

However, just this past week I’ve been wearing several from Louis Vuitton. The reason why? - because I wish to choose from amongst my samples and make a full bottle purchase soon. That’s strange because usually I choose a new fragrance from a group displaying a certain scent profile, whereas this time I’m choosing from a house. I’ve actually enjoyed it this way for a change. It’s been fun. And I suspect it will happen again when I make one of my next acquisitions from Byredo.

I probably could do this as well with ease. Creed, Chanel, Guerlain would be houses under consideration.

I once wore the house of Chanel exclusively for a full month. I did the same with the house of Serge Lutens. There was plenty of variety and I delved deeply into the respective house styles. I’ve long entertained the idea of wearing a single fragrance for a month!

I don’t put that much thought into it. I just wear what I feel like, I don’t put rules or regulations on it

I don't have any house that I have several frags from. Dior, I have four, which is the most. I better go get a fifth!

I’ve been wearing Mugler Cuir Impertinent for five days and expect to continue wearing it through the coming week. I like the idea of settling into a house for a good while.

Typically I alternate, but ironically, as I was in another country, I only had Cartier Pasha with me, so I wore that pretty much all week. I did have some other bottles I bought that I wore too, but Pasha was 5 days straight.

When is your Allure Homme bottle from? I'm curious to what the original release from the late 90s/early 2000s smell like.

I have two different ones. My older one with the 3 digit batch code, Its hard to date this bottle but I know it has to be old, was heavy on oak moss/sandalwood from the beginning and the scent lasted on me the whole day. It really didn't have much sweetness to it but I like it that way. My other vintage, I think from 2009 or so, was more bright in the opening, then the oak moss and sandal wood crept in towards the end of it. I have tried the newest formulations with the silver ring on the cap and they are a joke.

I still have a bottle that was gifted to me in the early 2000's. Probably around '00 to '02, I think. I can't compare it to the new stuff but even my bottle has average to below average longevity and projection.

I've done this with Crown Perfumery, Abdes Salaam/Via del Profumo, and January Scent Project. I could do it again with those houses easily enough, as they wouldn't require my repeating anything. I could do that with Hermès, as well. Other houses would require me to wear scents more than once, not that it would be a hardship.

This is what I do each work week, funnily enough. I only own scents from Creed. So each day I select which fragrance I'll wear, based on the weather forecast and the preference i have for each one

I lied... I said I would wear Chanel this week but ended up wearing Rasasi. Started the week with Shuhrah, Rasasi Leo Pour Lui, and today La Yuqawam.
