Might choose the sync, considering that most fragrances owned and used are pretty tame, conservative and non-provocative even among the nuclear performance, nearly overpowering ones, any scent owned along the lines of One Man Show Gold Edition or Lapidus pour Homme

OK - I could only find a (no pun intended) flanker of Agent Provocateur - namely Fatale.

Fatale is good stuff. It crosses several genres (chypre, gourmand, fruity floral), at just the right level where none overwhelms another, yet each one tweaks the others in a good way. It's quite feminine, but avoids daintiness, prudish formality, "hello sailor", and other evocative extremes of feminine fragrances. All of which makes it oddly OK on a guy, kinda like "you're so busted, dude - who is she?"

Cook.bot you called it! I wanted to go for a little danger, hence the spiked glove and the knotted stocking pic - the last one I filtered to look like a film/video still - kind of creepy, but a perfume called “Do You Want?” is a pretty open ended invitation.

Thanks! Your nic switch reminded me that I wanted to sniff it again, after the last try in duty free. I could not find my sample, but accidentally stumbled on it just now, looking for something else. Hermès has some of the best perfume pr0n, both bottles and art!

The 24FB I smelled in duty free was good stuff. I know people clamor for vintage, but dang - it was rich. My wife doesn't like it, but I sure do. I want to try the Eau Delicate, too. Might be more wearable for me. But I may also try a house layering with Terre. I'll bet that is very enjoyable.

@Red : lol THE TROUSERS, and her parting shot, 'I feel the need to be hosed down with a pressure washer' Still getting whiffs of The Lover's Tale off my skin several days later, and as for the sheets..... well, that and L'Heure Bleue. I like TLT, but it wears me, and I wouldn't wear it in public with people I know. Not these days.

Basically Opium was a spicy oriental scent but also I also picked up on notes. I got a lot of incense that was supported by rose and carnation florals as well as spices like cinnamon and cloves. The base sweetened a little bit with vanilla and supported by wood notes like sandalwood and there was some amber to provide some resinous feel. The overall scent reminded me of fragrances like Guerlain Shalimar and Creed Angelique Encens, both of which I prefer over Opium.

Just came back to this thread today and my my you all got up to some fun late (my time) on Friday! I had a little giggle at my desk at various points. Well done on a great synch all! Next year I'll give this theme some more planning.

Skin scents: Shermine by Pierre Guillaume & Goddess by Lush
Work horses: Magnetica by Voronoi & Paithaini by Penhaligons
Heavy Hitters: Hyde by Hiram Green & Vi et Armis by Beaufort

This was definitely a fun synch.
The upcoming one might feel a bit sad for some, but I'm sure there will be a plenty of great fragrances to choose from.

This Friday is Donna255’s Day of Reformulated Scents (Changed over time)!

Even I have a plenty of choices here: Shalimar, Opium, Habanita, Le baiser du Dragon, Lolita Lempicka... I believe Bapteme du feu could have been tweaked, too, though I'm not sure. Even Black Opium is slightly tweaked for the worse already (the bottle I own sadly feels a bit more synthetic and less soft/intoxicating than the scent I originally fell in love with. I know, I still had some liquid in the tester vial left and compared, so that's not just my taste or perception changing). I haven't tried the original versions of the classics I own though.
What are you going to wear?

I'm in the same boat. Either I haven't tried them or it has been so long ago that I'm not sure I trust my memory! I think the best example of this in my current wardrobe is Mitsouko. I could also raid my husband's cabinet for Opium.

This Friday’s topic is definitely a though-provoking one. I have many vintage perfumes that have been reformulated and in some cases I have multiple versions with minor changes, I could wear vintage Diva and newer Diva, vintage Cabochard and newer, vintage Bandit and newer...you get the idea,.

And then there are perfumes that have been completely changed and reissued under the same name—L’Interdit is a good example. Of course, my #1 Miss Dior was also completely transformed some time ago. I could just wear vintage Miss Dior (NOT the one below)

Lots of ways to approach the theme. I've a few pairs of originals and reformulations so am thinking I'll do that, but need to decide whether it is an AM and PM thing, or simultaneously on different body parts. It will be interesting to see if anyone wears a reformulation that is preferred over the original.
