    Default Synchronized Fridays 2020

It's that time again to begin putting together another edition of Synchronized Friday! I'd like to get the brainstorming for the 2020 list started.

    Here's the following categories:

    (1) Pick a particular perfumer, house, or genre. I would suggest picking one that enough BNers can participate.

    (2) Geographical location. Choose a city located somewhere around this World!

    (3) An interesting, creative idea. Brainstorm some ideas, think outside of the box. If it's unique or never done before even better!

    (4) BNer Day. For this category, I want to give priority to BNers who have NOT had a BNer Day. If there's space left over, I will allow the naming of individuals who have participated in either the 2017 or 2018 Synchronized Fridays.

Let's make Synchronized Fridays 2020 awesome!

How about switching from cities to countries for the geographical ones? The cities were really tough this year, and seemed to get lower turnout, too.

Why, thank you, HOP, for the nod. But you may regret it should I be chosen to have a synch day because the most obvious feature of my style are aldehydes and I know how unpopular they are!

Oh, you know what sync I'm going to beg for! Same as every year, may we please do Panned by The Guide? It's nothing new but has come to feel like a BN tradition. And it does get great turnout with many interesting posts-I think this year's Panned sync is one of the best so far!

Loving all the ideas so far, and would second every BNer who has been mentioned already for a special day. Red, that's just pure evil. And I love it!

Love this idea. It could be called "Separated at Birth?", after that old humor column that used to be in National Lampoon magazine.

    Example:

    Separated at Birth?
    Jeff Sessions and Granny Clampett

I would add Grayspoole, Earlyn for BN nominations

One classic theme that I wouldn't mind seeing again is fragrance haikus.

    Excellent choices.

Great idea! Maybe make it a choice -- you can submit either a haiku OR a limerick. That would be truly fun.

While I do agree to an extent, some countries with notable cities I think actually help. I do think some notable cities would be nice to have. Perhaps there can be some kind of compromise between cities and countries.

One idea that I have is bringing back the Around the World series that was done back in the 2017 Sync. Allow 1 continent per month - that would mean 7 of the 12 months would be continent based. The other remaining months could be cities.

I love the ideas for the most clunky bottle and the industrial accord! The Black Forest also sounds very interesting.
And thank you for nomination! I personally think we should honor the veteran members first though, are there more people such as Donna and Zilpha who didn't have their day yet?
If there aren't, my most favourite note ever is grapefruit. I could bathe in the stuff. I also do love coffee, ginger and cinnamon a lot. And all the other citruses, too.

As for Zilpha's aldehydes - I think I do normally hate them, but I read there's quite a lot of them in Salvador Dali, but somehow I'm either not getting them or they don't bother me there!

Thanks for the nomination HoP I love everyone's ideas. I would like to add a music theme. Your favourite artist and then post a video maybe and wear a scent that reminds you of them / the group. And maybe a scent fitted for that reminds you of the opera.... A Serge Lutens synch....An art synch.... Forest-synch,The tundra / norhern Europe, your darkest rose or a rose-chypre synch, most animalic scent, a blinde buy....For cities: Cape Town,....oh and a fairytale synch

    A few thoughts:

    (1) Pick a particular perfumer, house, or genre. I would suggest picking one that enough BNers can participate.
    Neil Morris! or L'Artisan

    (2) Geographical location. Choose a city located somewhere around this World!
Savannah, GA., Miami or Tampa FL

    (3) An interesting, creative idea. Brainstorm some ideas, think outside of the box. If it's unique or never done before even better!
The ground. Dirt, concrete, grass, compost...

How about “mood” scents - ones that make you feel happy, introspective, comforted, nostalgic?
Note to self: Choose being kind over being right, and you’ll be right every time.

We had a Neil Morris day one year, unfortunately Basenotes was shutdown for a few days so that sync Friday never happened.

We've never done a breakfast sync before so that would be good to have. I'm sure a lot of good ideas could be spawned from that.
