Default looking for the best masculine chocolate fragrance

got some slumberhouse samples a few days ago and was really impressed with ore, so it got me in the mood to try other chocolate fragrances but I don't want them to be too
    sweet or too girly.

the only chocolate/cocoa fragrance I have is russian oud by areej le dore.
    I'm going to sample:bruno fazzolari - corpse reviver , nasomatto -pardon , sammarco - bond-T , orto parisi - boccanera

    any other ideas?

Dark by Akro has been the talk of the town for chocolate in recent memory!

    Yes, definitely try Akro.

Also L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme (EDT if you want strong citrus along with the cacao, EDP if you want full-on cacao gourmand with some licorice alongside).

Ore made me something of a convert to chocolate notes in perfume, but like you I don't like them sweet. Two I would suggest are Jovoy - Psychedelique, which is mostly patchouli but has a chocolate note that I think is pretty apparent although doesn't dominate and Smell Bent - Hungry Hungry Hippies, which also has a lot of patchouli along with a cannabis note along with the chocolate. I certainly wouldn't call either of these "girly."

L'Oprofumo in Florence has a very nice and dry chocolate centric perfume called Criollo. Unfortunately, I don't think the line is sold outside of Florence.

Mr. Bojnokopff's Purple Hat is very chocolatey. Also, Oud Luwak gives off chocolate vibes.

House of Matriach's Bittersweet Symphony is great. It's a blend of chocolate and spikenard(which comes across as patchouli), not particularly sweet but delicious. I think there is still a 50% off sale across the whole site, definitely don't buy anything full-price from HoM.

Forgot about Purple Hat. Indeed it also has a great chocolate oud note.

Ore smells good, but it soon becomes an annoying candle I can't wait to blow out.

As many have already said, Oud Monarch is an exceptional oriental with a rich cacao note.

This is so not my genre, but I think you're on the right track with Corpse Reviver. Also, there's a House of Matriarch scent called Coco Blanc that's really quite good. CBIHP's Chocolate Box is pretty fun — it somehow manages to smell like both the chocolate AND the box!

Coco Blanc comes off as a woodier version of Coromandel. On me I really don't get much chocolate in that one.

Seconding LIDGE in almost any version, adding Endymion by Penhaligon's among decently priced niche alternatives, however with more of a creamy, lighter milk chocolate feel, almost like lavender infused and unexpectedly well balanced with a note of sage and/or other spicy hints

Chocolate isn't the butchest note I can think of, but have you tried Coromandel? It has a definite (white?) chocolate feel to my nose.

Yes! I just came here to recommend Borneo 1834, which I think will tick all of Robin's boxes.

Then Akro Dark is a must-try.

There are some cheapies that I think do an earthy dark chocolate note well, but I don't think they're on the level of compositional accomplishment you're looking for.
