Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Happy Monday everyone!

I wearing Mauboussin from a new bottle I
purchased yesterday. Love this one in the winter -
so rich and smooth-smelling with the feel of liquid, purple silk.

    Hello everyone!
I was mostly offline for the weekend, as there were lots of stuff to do - I worked all weekend in children's literature event, and there was a friend's birthday on Saturday evening, too. I wore Bvlgari Black through the weekend and loved it.
Also they found a 100 kg WW2 Russian mine in a construction site on Thursday nearby the place I live in. I was playing boardgames with my boyfriend and his best friend in his place when the police told everyone nearby to either evacuate or shut all the windows and stay inside while they'll be disarming it - so I thought I was already evacuated and shouldn't try to go home that night. The disarming went smoothly and no people or property was hurt. The mine clearers, military and police did a great job. I think it's the second WW2 bomb found in this area of the city in a span of 2 years or so. We tend to think they all were found long ago, but the truth is they still do find WW2 mines in construction sites all over Europe until this day. I once had a conversation with a couple of military men specializing on demining, an they told me they get around 400 emergency calls every year - and Lithuania is very small, I wonder what is the count in Germany, France or Poland, for example. War is scary.

Today I was craving for citruses, so I'm wearing Les Amoureux de Peynet by Molinard.

I love waking up cold. Really. It's such a nice change for us here in Florida. I reached for something I rarely wear, because it just doesn't feel right in hot weather but it smells delicious today:

How nice to see you, dora! I hope life has been treating you well!

Taking it easy on the nose in Jersey EdT today. This darn cold has me thinking of going off perfume altogether for a bit; it gets better, then worse, and round and round again. Just can't seem to get over it. On the bright side, I have an excellent excuse to not go anywhere.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Wow. You would think with the availability of ground-penetrating radar they would have all these things sussed out by now, before construction equipment bumps into them. But I guess not.

Vintage '80s Choc de Cardin for me today. A very dry spicy/fruity that was far ahead of its time.

ClockworkAlice, the aftermath of war is far reaching and on a huge scale. I remember when we went on a tour around Flanders being staggered how much ammunition / shrapnel / bombs etc they were still uncovering every year (we are talking in tonnes ).

Wow, scary Clockwork! But not totally unsurprising, there was so much ammunition used in that war.

Healing vibes to Perfumed Lady and better day vibes for ineespenes! And hello to dora!

Still working my way through a huge pile of samples, then will be moving on to finish the week in Naomi Goodsir.

(((CwAlice))), you provide us with a tangible reminder about why we should support ambassadors who endeavor to prevent war. Fellow Americans catch my drift.

    Hello, Dora!

Cook.bot, your Perfect Day Recipe sounds delicious.

Trilby, my reference to our Retirement Sisterhood ("of the reduced-size pants?") with foxbins relates to our stage-of-life-honing tendencies, not our occasional laziness. Last week's project for me was the overhaul of 25 years of addies and passwords. Next will be the production of 60 more educational signs so visitors can self tour our place. This is one of my life-quest projects. So, if I slip on a banana peel (highly unlikely--carbs!) before I can get the documentary done, future gens will know how all the artifacts and architectural and landscape elements came together.

I expect to be invited to a wake in December, and I'm going through my perfume wardrobe trying to figure out what the right fragrance to wear will be. Today I'm trialing Feminite du Bois with this in mind. I think it's too spicy and not sweet enough for that occasion.
    I don't want to. I don't have to. You can't make me. I'M RETIRED.
