This week marks the first week where we'll be experiencing rain/showers every single day. Wet weather is terrible but we need the water.

    Going with Guerlain Derby today

It's the first day of summer here but it has taken until 1pm to get to 15C - we had to put the heating on early this morning.

Started with 34 Boulevard Saint Germain EDT by Diptyque but I prefer this scent in warm weather so I have now changed to Santal Spirit by Aussie brand - Mount Romance. Here is the scent description from their website: A homage to sandalwood itself, this fragrance created by internationally renowned perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour begins with floral notes of cardomom and ethereal sea breeze, moving to heart notes of coco milk and tonka bean, finishing strong with frankincense and vanilla backed up by musky amber tones complimenting the sweet creamy woody smell of genuine Quintis Sandalwood Album oil grown in the tropics of Australia.

    Have a good day!

Cuddlecat, I do hope you’ll keep us informed about seasonal weather Down Under. I’m visiting in May and trying to get my head around the opposite seasons. It was super hot in the Los Angeles metro until two weeks ago. Today, there was snow on the nearby mountains and the snow level appeared quite low. Maybe I can get some Australian sandalwood perfume as a souvenir. That would be very special and I assume it is unavailable here.

Trilby, that's quite a drastic change in the weather in Socal. We're finally getting our rain in Norcal.

kewart, the frost here yesterday was so heavy it almost resembled a light snowfall. It seemed quite surreal speaking to my sister in NZ with temperatures in the low 70s and Spring blooms in the background.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Good morning everyone So far I'm unscented and really stressed out. Yesterday we didn't get to finish the packing due to lots of drama :/ In short a friend of mine found out that the guy she likes ( which is also the bf's friend) just got a girlfriend.... And she and him recently had a thing going on. So she was devastated, came here really drunk and slept on the couch. So people are coming in a few hours , I've hardly slept and we still have lots to do :O At least the weather is calm so far, but it was bad last night. Hopefully it will stay calm. Later I feel like wearing Jicky ....

    CuddleCat, that one sounds nice!

lne, that sounds very stressful indeed. Hope it all goes smoothly in the end.

No frost here on the south coast, but it's a beautiful bright, cold day. We'll be heading out for lunch soon, & l'm wearing Cadjmere 18 for the first day of Advent.

Wishing my husband a very happy anniversary today. He gifted me with a bottle of Cormandel Parfum.

My recovery is going very well. I'm in the immobilization sling till the end of the year.

Happy anniversary, dear RHM (and what a lovely gift from your husband!), also speedy and complete recovery wishes!

ine, sending vibes of winged and well-oiled wheel things - and a couple of very strong backs (and some aspirin for your friend) for your move.

Testing Oriza L. LeGrand's Horizon today.

Another winner. I've liked all of the ones from this line that I've smelled so far - and I liked Chypre Mousse well enough to buy my first fb in more than a year last summer. Not sure I need an entire bottle of this one, but a split... It's a patchouli beast with lots of warm, sweet and woody edges.

Horizon (new) fragrance notes: Bark bitter orange, Tangerine confit, Dried rose, Cognac amber, Tobacco leaves, Cocoa roasted almonds, Old oak, Patchouli, Benzoin, Ambergris, Peat, Tabac blond, Vanilla, Honey, Leather.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

Teardrop just made me think about Advent calendars. I noticed this year I've seen them with every conceivable content -- from chocolates to wines to toys and whiskeys, even one that had tools in it. Has anyone ever produced a perfume Advent calendar?

Then Donna reminded me of the Mitsouko centenary. I'll join in for the last day of that with some vintage EDP on a cold, rainy at-home day. And maybe pretend it came from the gold leaf centennial bottle.

So sorry you had a bad night, Inees.

Diptyque usually has one every year. I've heard they are filled mainly with candles, some fragrance, etc. But, $425 or so for one? Nah. I'd pass.

    Hello all,

I’m wearing Chanel No. 22. To my nose, it smells the most vintage stylistically of all the old Chanels.

I’m going for a short walk outside today. It’ll be the first time since my fall last month. All my cuts and bruises are healed but my knee is still swollen. I start physical therapy tomorrow. I feel such a strong urge to be active again and resume my favorite pursuits: walking, biking, gym workouts. I’ve been warned that the physical therapy will be demanding.

    Have a good day.
