Default I have two questions about polo green and Caron line ups..

Ok about polo green now I bought this bottle in the summer ,I like polo green alot..now I bought a bottle 2.5oz 60ml from Walgreens brand new , after a few grabs the logo has be wearing off..is this normal with polo? It's expensive name I wouldn't think the logo was that cheapIMG_20191201_003434.jpg
2nd question about Caron..I've been reading alot about 3rd man and Yatagan and pour un homme 1934..I never smelled them before , all my colognes are classic I'm into woody , Fourgerers smell, chypre , OWN Dunhill for men 1934 Aramis for men , VCA PH,Tsar VCA , Halston z14 vintage ,Devin Aramis vintage , Paco RABANNE pour homme so if Any of the Caron's are in that line of smell I'll buy all 3 , there are not too expensive and pretty safe on the blind side I believe and I'm talking about current formulas as well,I wont chase any older bottles until I try the new ones..3rd man is been talked about and Yatagan aswell , I read that it's like a Devin but a bit more sweeter ...well until then let me know what it reminds u of

Id get 3rd man and yatagan. Id bet youll like them. But if i had to pick one id say yatagan fits in better.
It’s tragic to think that heroic man’s great destiny is to become economic man, that men will be reduced to craven creatures who crawl across the globe competing for money, who spend their nights dreaming up new ways to swindle each other.

can't say for sure but would think Logo coming off not a good sign at all.

When I'm carrying my Polo bottle in a gym back and it's moving around a lot, the logo wears away on mine. If it's sitting on my shelf, staying put, it doesn't.

Yes the logo on original Polo tends to wear out as I found out when I looked up secondhand vintage. Cheaply made bottle, what else can we expect? Gentle handling & proper storage should slow down the fade though.

Re the Caron, they are classic and I think you're going to like them. Troisieme is a clean fougere, not too aromatic. Pour un homme is lavender and vanilla. Yatagan is darker and woody, more chypre.

Would you say that Yatagan has something in common with Zino in its darkness?

    Joe

to my nose, Zino and Yatagan are quite different. Yatagan is dark and animalic, with a striking vegetable top.

The logo comes off after wear and tear. Had my Cosmair version for years and I can barely see it now.

I would say if you like woody scents, 3rd Man is definitely worth owning and easily the best from Caron.

However, I didn’t like the sample of Yatagan that I have (thank you kind BNer that sent me this sample). You are much better off getting something like Quorum which is made by the same perfumer as Polo RL and has more in common with it. Plus it’s just more of a ‘scent’ whereas Yatagan doesn’t change that much (at least on me it doesn’t).

As for PuH, I owned the current stuff and several versions of it, then grew bored of it and never went back. I smell it on a few people here and there but ultimately nothing to get excited about IMHO.

While not aware about the outer aspect of this particular Polo Green bottle, assuming that these outer changes are harmless if the actual juice is not affected.

As for the second question, all the Caron fragrances mentioned are a fairly safe option as blind buy for anyone into woody notes, although Caron pour un Homme is less of a woody fragrance (thus not likely the safest blind buy strictly for these notes alone) and an even safer choice for anyone into traditional, almost old-school powdery while still very soapy, clean cut, no nonsense barbershop style lavenders with just a few vanillic notes for added complexity.
