    Default Best of the Decade

There was a thread in the boy's forum about the top ten of the decade (2010-2019) (http://www.basenotes.net/threads/469...de-(2010-2019).

Would love the hear from the ladies!

    Mine:

    1. Muguet Porcelain (Hermes) 2016 - the only LOTV worth smelling since Diorissimo
    2. L'Incendiaire (Lutens) 2014 - Lutens at his best - fruits, resins, and oud. The Best of the best.
    3. Thirty Three (Ex Idolo) 2013 - rich, real smelling oud balanced with the perfect rose
    4. Une Nuit Magnetique (The Different Company) 2014 - every cliched idea of the decade, perfected
    5. Twilly (Hermes) 2017 - a tuberose fougere, totally unique
    6. Agar Ebene (Hermes) 2017 - the most elegant leather since Cuir de Russie
    7. Eau Parfumee au The Noir (Bvlgari) 2015 - the perfect balance of dark tea and oud mixed with the light of bergamot and rose
    8. Angel Muse (Mugler) 2016 - the only Angel clone worthy of its name
    9. Aura (Mugler) 2017 - another unique creation of greens and vanilla unlike anything else
    10. You (Glossier) 2017 - a blend of Helmut Lang's musk and Lutens' iris. The best skin scent around.

These were hard to narrow down, so l've kept to a top ten of the ones l actually bought, in no particular order:

And the World is Yours by A Lab on Fire: beautiful, radiant & creamy orange blossom.
Ashoka by Neela Vermeire: unique combination of mimosa & fig.
Narciso EDP: a true gardenia in a modern style.
OSA by Note di Profumum: ylang ylang in the style of Carnal Flower.
Sahara Noir by Tom Ford: monumental frankincense.
Santal Blush by Tom Ford: buttery, creamy, spicy sandalwood. Yum.
Stash by SJP: probably the best celebuscent ever, & another wonderful sandalwood.
Suntanglam by SP Parfums: animalic meets tropical beach. Totally unique.
Like This by ELd'O: the quintessential autumn fragrance.
Seville a l'Aube by L'Artisan: orange blossom, beeswax + incense = springtime in the Med.

Honourable mentions to some others that l've sampled along the way:

Eau de Nyonya by Auphorie: a deliciously unique gourmand-oriental.
Khol de Bahrein by Stephane Humbert Lucas: the ultimate post-bath pampering scent.
Mousse Illuminee by Rogue: complex & utterly compelling chypre.

    lt's been a good decade.

Great list! I'm still trying to figure out Narcisso (in the white cube). It's "good", but I smell no gardenia, or any other specific note for that matter. It's lovely, but maybe not for me? I just smell a huge cloud of musks and fillers...not one note stands out for me.

Papillon Bengale Rouge and Dryad would be right up there at the close of this decade, but there are so many to name over the whole 10 years that my mind goes blank.

    Some of my favorites:

Cristalle Eau Verte by Chanel (2009)
    Eau Duelle by Diptyque (2010)
Infusion d’Iris Absolue by Prada (2012)
Mito EDP by Vero Profumo (2012)
Eau de Magnolia by Malle (2014)
    Galop d’Hermes (2016)
    Jasmine Smoke by Heretic (2016)
    No. 5 L’Eau by Chanel (2016)
    Chypre Siam by Rogue (2018)
    Sanrovia by Blocki (2018)
My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.
