This is coming out Dec. 12. It has only three listed notes: Talc, Lavender Absolute and Fresh Linens.

Saw it pop up on NST yesterday, it had a slightly longer note list there. Sounds worth a sample. I still haven't found anything from IA that has really grabbed me and said "buy me", but I like the general aesthetic and think Josh has a fun approach to perfumery.

talc, lavender, black pepper, teak, amyris, vanilla powder and fresh linens

Interesting additional notes. It certainly sounds like it's going to be powdery!

My thoughts as well. Would be great if there was a realistic teak note/accord though. I used to refinish woodwork on sailboats and love the smell of freshly sanded teak. Haven't found that anywhere in perfumery yet.

If you can track down a bottle of Trussardi Inside Man, it has a nice teak note.

I just noticed this is for sale now on the IA website. I guess it will be available from other sellers in a couple of days.

Agreed. Teak has "peaked" my interest in this one. It's was one of the reasons I was so excited for the release of Kote from Slumberhouse which unfortunately didn't happen. The original description of Kote from 2011 said, "Polished teak planks brushed in clementine juice, rubbed dry with tobacco leaves and left in the sun. A bright wood that fully realizes itself in a warm atmosphere with translucent sparks of bronzed pine gum."

I don't know about you bud, but that sounds about like the perfect fragrance in my book if it was actually "realized"...sigh.

Anyway, this release Telegrama does sound like a powder fest. I hope for the teak wood note/accord in this as well.

I'm a big fan of his earlier releases but everything since Slow Explosions has been disappointing IMO. Telegrama sounds like another boring fresh scent from IA. It'll probably have terrible performance like Sundrunk and Saint Julep, too.

Bottle in order. I think that it will make a good bed time fragrance, calming and whatnot.

I think my nose is broke because all I smell with this release is cotton candy. Like if I stick my head inside the cotton candy maker machine, pure sugar, synthetic. I think I'm going to have to move this one. Live and learn.

Interesting! Would not expect that based on the notes.

Got my 14ml yesterday and have tried it a couple of times.

Very pleasant and "clean" but so far wears way too lightly for my tastes.

The lavender note is soft to me. None of the notes seem very dominant. Very "blended."

My nose is denser than most here, so it takes me a few wearings to get know a scent.

I don't quite get the "cotton candy" vibe as psawjack, but I can see where someone could on initial blast.

Not displeased with the 14ml- I will wear a few times and see if I "turn' on it. Doesn't feel like a 50ml purchase right now.

I get some of the talc and fresh linen, but very discreet. I was hoping for more of a loud-ish freshy talc bomb. There may well be some teak there, but you'll have to dig for it.

My go tos for this kind of scent are Gendarme EDP or Original Vetiver.

Default Imaginary Authors Telegrama: New Release..and its awesome!

    Telegrama.jpg

So I just got this in today, and I'm in love. I still think Memoirs of a Trespasser in my favorite from Imaginary Authors, but this is now a strong second. Super fresh and clean, long lasting as hell (four sprays when the mail came at 10 a.m. and it's still projecting at 7:16 p.m. as I write this) and pretty masculine. Of course, all Imaginary Authors frags are marketed as unisex, but I don't see too many women being able to pull this one off. Here's the description from the website:

    NOTES:
    Talc
    Lavender Absolute
    Black Pepper
    Teak
    Amyris
    Vanilla Powder
    Fresh Linens

SYNOPSIS: Separated when they were nineteen but forever tethered to hope, two Argentinian lovers, manage to stay in touch even as the world pulls them further and further apart. Persuasive messages, some of which take months to reach their recipient, dramatically alter the course of each of their lives but the time that passes between communications has a way of unraveling even the best-laid plans. Aboard a transatlantic flight many years later, the two are serendipitously united but the repercussions of this much-anticipated convergence could have global consequences.

WHEN TO WEAR THIS FRAGRANCE: Inspired by a vintage first-class experience, this plush scent has the ability to turn even the most ordinary day into something dignified and memorable. Indulge often.

I will say that the "When To Wear" portion, despite the hyperbole, is pretty dang accurate. This is a super classy scent and uber-versatile. I'm actually liking it more here in the evening than I did during the day, but really does work for all times of day. The opening is really sweet, very candy-like a la BR540 but far from a clone. Think more the general idea of that fragrance than any type of copy of it. You also get that hint of pepper but it fades really quickly which is interesting as most pepper notes (for me, anyway) are very long-lasting. As it dries down, you really get that blend of talc and vanilla. I wouldn't say the vanilla is overly powdery, but its a little more complex than a straight vanilla note. I don't get any lavender or teak and just a hit of amyris, so those notes are either not present or blended really well into the overall composition. The imaginary note in this one is Fresh Linens and it's one I can actually detect a little bit.

Fantastic fragrance, and I highly, highly recommend everyone gives it a shot. No fragrance is 100% safe for a blind buy, but this one is certainly close.

Wore this again this morning upon waking and to the gym. The powdery notes became really prominent when I started sweating. It wasn't overpowering or anything, but still not what I would consider to be a safe gym scent. I'm still a huge fan of this and consider it a top release from Imaginary Authors.
