Default Brand new here; sorry if I'm posting in wrong place

    Hello,

Since my favorite fragrance, L'Effleur by Coty, was discontinued, I have not found anything that even comes close to matching it. I have been open to a completely different scent, but have not found one that appeals to me for longer than an initial spritz. Has anyone tried a fragrance reproduction company, like Scentmatchers? Thank you!

Welcome to you MeggieH! Enjoy your time here at Basenotes! Keep searching for that new fragrance that will click with you. It's bound to happen sooner or later. I'd stay away from those imitation or imposter companies.

I'm seeing some comparisons to Houbigant Quelque Fleurs.

    Welcome, Meggie!

l don't know about smell-alikes, but there's a lot of L'Effleur on ebay for very reasonable prices.

    Welcome!

Especially if this fragrance should be available from reputable sellers, would recommend waiting for a good offer before a purchase.

Perhaps now’s a good time to buy some ‘insurance’ and find yourself new favourites. And you couldn’t have come to a better place to help you with that!

    Thanks, Teardrop!
For several years, I did buy countless bottles from ebay, and I was thrilled to still have a supply. Unfortunately, about two years ago, I started to notice that it smelled funny. Hoping it was just a bad bottle, I bought several more, but had to accept the fact that the perfume had indeed turned. I even tossed the bottles into the trash. What would you say is the life of a fragrance before it turns?

As long as they were stored properly they could sometimes last forever. Unfortunately most people donít know the proper way to store fragrances and they go bad, but isnít always the case your bound to eventually find properly stored still good bottles! Your also sure to find many many more amazing fragrances you will enjoy just as much with recommendations and opinions on Basenotes!
